I think they said that we will get at least 100 more eps. Time flies by quickly. I honestly don't know what is left to be shown. The main track left is the love story. Brilliant writers haven't left much to be explored.

Mili ji,

Let me be honest you brighten up this space for me, the discussion in here is incomplete without your rant and opinion🤗 I agree with you the sock incident is all OTT irritating and even I didn't like the lill boy Aarav having a secret pact with Viaan. But upon deep analysis I could sense that's to indicate the growing inseparable bonding between them both, because only if Aarav agrees kathaa can accept Viaan in her life. Aarav rooting and praying for Viaan’s success in love also shows that Aarav will be happy probably with a bit of initial hesitation for katha and Viaan’s union.

Coming back to the stapler and glass shards incident its a watershed moment for kathaa to realise she indeed has got feelings for Viaan. Because kathaa is scared of seeing the people she cares being hurt or lost. She becomes perceptive the moment she realizes the person she cares is hurt. Even when her son wasn't home she panicked and despite being a strong woman she didn't refuse to take Viaan's help(he was her persecutor back then) while looking for Aarav. It's because losing near ones is one dreadful experience for kathaa.

Lovestories in India happen differently to that of the western world. In India a widow SM pining for someone and moving on is stigmatised but in the west it's a common thing. So viaan staring at kathaa isn't stalking in Indian context, because kathaa needs the push for her to think about viasn. Kathaa is uncomfortable with his presence not because she felt stalked, but because she's very well aware how Viaan's mum tries to blame kathaa for Viaan's passionate love.

Kathaa without any hesitation bluntly told Ehsan that she only has her son as the only man in her life, but she did let viaan confess his feelings, gave him many opportunities to express himself and was found changing her earrings prior to their date just before shamitha kaand. All that indicates she has some feelings for Viaan. She changed the Earthcon AV to ensure Viaan isn't made uncomfortable by being reminded of his past bruises. This might make kathaa look hypocritical but sadly NO. Social stigma is a big fear Indian women are afraid to shoulder upon. Kathaa is very well aware of her responsibilities, the expectations everyone has for her and finally she finds herself a lesser choice for Viaan due to the fact that she already had a marriage and childcare responsibility and hence finds rejection as the best option. Her rejection isn't due to lack of feelings but rather for the lack of future for their relationship.

Ehsan, neerja praising Viaan didn't look forceful at all because they consistently have been that way.

Also especially appreciable is Kavitha she never considered kathaa as a DIL(her deceased son's wife) instead as a parent advising out of her acquired wisdom from her age and experience. Kavitha never fights with people instead focuses on pursuing her purpose.

Also, I just loved how Viaan has surprised neerja with the shelter home plans instead of trying to seek her help in kathaa matter. Because this proves he's not in a hurry to get kathaa's acquiescence instead he's waiting for his lady to reciprocate her feelings for him and their individual trauma is the uniting force in their relationship.

Finally Teji/Mr.Garewal's actions next week are only going to act as catalysts for "Kavia" lovestory.

Being a woman myself I think many of us in here are all unfortunately familiar with harassment, gender bias and gender discrimination at workplace, but Viaan’s behaviour didn't look like any of the above to me.

Tagging few others for their opinions.

😭😲🤢 I don't know how else to put it. I watched all 4 episodes in one go, so again, no specifics.

Rant alert, and you have been forewarned😔 BTW, where are you Letha?

I got irritated by almost everybody except Mama G putting Papa G on the spot with " beti ke liye pareshaan ho, ya bahu ke liye"👏 I can't believe this is the only line/scene I liked in the last 4 episodes😒.

Most irritating and troublesome is our ML. I was so uncomfortable with his actions. I can't believe the makers thought of taking the ML down this route. Either they are too young with no kids or blinded to what they are doing with the MLs characterization😡. This is triggering to so many girls/women who have been through this kind of harassment.

Viaan is that guy from hell for those of us who have young, naïve kids💔If you attend any of the sessions the local police departments conduct about safety of children, predator awareness, these are the exact words they ask you to watch out for😒" This is our secret, your parents don't need to know. They will be unnecessarily stressed"🤢 No, I am not blaming Viaan R, so mere peeche teer, talwaar leke math aana😭. But those are the words verbatim, that real predators lure the kids with😭 I hate the whole romanticizing of this kind of priming of a child to hide secrets from the parents. 😵This is neither cute nor acceptable👎🏼

I can't say enough things about Viaan and his staring sprees😡💔🤬. I don't understand this guy standing while everybody is sitting around the table, only to keep staring at her. And what is with saving her from big, bad staplers, when he can't protect her from wagging tongues🤬 I think all the employees at Earthcon are blind or have a blinders on or too engrossed in their work that they have no clue what is going on around them. He walks in on a team meeting and group meetings only to stare at her🥺

Ehsaan even called him out for intruding in her life. Viaan R talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk💔How do the makers not see this as cringeworthy and triggering for a lot of people who are subjected to this kind of nonsense, day in and day out😡

Katha looks mighty uncomfortable the minute she lays eyes on him and is patiently telling him that she is uncomfortable. Nothing makes a difference for Viaan and his staring. Unfortunately, it reflects the state of the affairs a lot of working women face in India😭. I cannot believe that the writers are completely clueless on this🤢

I hated everybody lecturing Katha how great of a guy Viaan is, from Ehsan, to Neerja to Kavitha💔 If my friend or my sister is complaining about a guy's advances in the office, do-chaar gaali mein bhi dedeti, not say, kahin tum love mein nahin ho😡🤢How does it matter to Katha how great of a prospective partner Viaan is, if she is not in the market for one☢️ I literally could shake everyone out of their stupidity🤬

The outing is another nonsense. I was second hand uncomfortable the whole episode with Viaan staring, making holes in his socks to show his mahaanta. Again Katha's discomfort and her smile vanishing the moment Viaan got announced to the team, made no difference to Viaan🤢Why couldn't they show that Sahil kid say, my socks, my wish and I love ventilated toes and shut the other guy up?Icing on the top is Katha's shirt to the picnic, she pulled it out of her boxes stacked away from college days😔

I am literally tired watching this week's episodes🤢. I don't even feel like I want to make fun of Viaan. I don't know how everybody else felt👎🏼

He doesn’t feel guilty anymore. She is not upset about it anymore. Why? We will never know. Unless we do some deep deep thinking and come to the conclusion that Katha has accepted her role in it. 🤔 So moving on to next phase of the story. It is not important to show the change as that will take away from Viaan’s stares.

you are probably right but it is kind of sad -- the writers had the original dizi to look at how to do this story right and yet they decided to whitewash it to something boring.

he should have struggled to accept his feelings and wondered what to do with them. he should have struggled with whether he feels okay with feeling a sense of powerlessness -- this is the same guy who wanted to be in control that he proposed one night stand as a test. now he is okay with not being in the driver's seat. right, because love magically makes you a doormat.

the push and pull has to come from both ML and FL and the journey to falling in love and accepting that love has to be a long one. no sudden light bulb moments -- when that happens, drama is essentially over.

a cartoon episode has more action and emotional pull than this drama.

@bold, I thought that’s where the story is headed when I started watching initially. I am all for mature grown up love. The push, the pull, the tugs. This teenage stuff is blah. So true, Tom and Jerry is so much fun, this has no humor, no masala, no thinking, nothing.

Oh I forget, this has staring.

yes, we should be happy that it has staring. 😂

normally, I find the trope both hilarious as well as fun to watch. in this drama, it is so blah. I think it is because we have lost the emotional connect to the story when they messed up viaan's core buildup. this isn't viaan. but some robot. 😆

hmmm.... I would disagree here. at least with regional cinema and drama (since I am more aware on that), we have had movies and dramas on re-marriage even in the 90s. it was all done very tastefully.

even in hindi serials like 'kahiin to hoga' (2003-2007), technically the FL was a widow when she marries the ML and omo, the looks and the romance while she plots to bring him down. sizzle!!! 😂😂

even the most dhoom tana tana drama "kausati zindagi ki" (2001-2008), the FL was a divoree who married multiple times the same men over and over (mr bajaj and anurag) -- and boy, did we have fun with the staring and pining looks. 😂😂

so it is not that we haven't had these kind of characters before or that it wasn't done masala romantic style with maximum sizzle. 😂😂

okay mili -- the previous 3 episodes -- no patience to watch this starefest and the rest. 😆 so here are some random thoughts:

-- smriti: you are totally right, that was a smashing grey net sari from teji. she looked elegant, beautiful and rich. she has moved up the well-dressed ladder and even beaten mamaG. super! true highlight of that dumb episode. 😂

-- viaan and katha are both bonkers in my mind. neeraja said something -- "say what is in your heart katha" -- I think that is precisely the problem. now, I haven't seen the drama in two weeks when viaan decided to offload his feelings but here is what viaan has drawn from those convos -- that katha isn't averse to him per se but rather she has responsibilities (namely her son) and till then has no time for a personal relationship.

that is very different from saying "I do not want a realtionship because I don't feel romantic" or something like that. so basically viaan sees it as a half-rejection and hence, the whole "I will wait" approach. basically he is being a businessman where he is trying to sweeten the deal by waiting to strike at the right time.

his staring is not only stupid but so boring that I turned off the video. again, it falls into him believing that she is not averse to him and therefore it is okay for him to have his heart full by looking.

katha is doing mixed messaging where she is oblivious one second to his staring and the next intensely aware of him and also doing a bit of staring herself. so on some level, he feels that she is interested in him but because of being a single mother, she is holding back. that is very different from a full on rejection. so viaan's actions from that angle makes kind of absurd sense.

-- HOWEVER, this whole love story and the writing is totally bakwas. I ranted away in DT when the trip to lonowala happened -- their entire conversations made zero sense to me and how he seemed magically cured. the starting point for the downhill for the drama started there. also DT stopped being as buzzing when that happened. why? because the drama made no sense and he wasn't the livewire he was in the beginning of the drama.

-- again, we are seeing the same philosophy and majorly bad writing. he is in love and therefore magically has no bitterness towards love and relationships. what a bunch of foul smelling manure!!! 🙄🙄🙄

it would have made more sense character wise if he had struggled with falling in love and what means -- his father was also in love and destroyed the family unit for love. where is he processing his past and how it impacts the present? magically, now he is all for love?? 🤦🤦

he should have struggled to accept his feelings and wondered what to do with them. he should have struggled with whether he feels okay with feeling a sense of powerlessness -- this is the same guy who wanted to be in control that he proposed one night stand as a test. now he is okay with not being in the driver's seat. right, because love magically makes you a doormat.

instead of a grand livewire struggle, we had nothing. where is the angst? the hesitation? the fear? that is why the drama has become a total borefest.

part of the magic of ITV is when the characters struggle with falling in love and the viewers feel the push and pull and we are rooting for them to overcome the mountain. the push and pull has to come from both ML and FL and the journey to falling in love and accepting that love has to be a long one. no sudden light bulb moments -- when that happens, drama is essentially over.

here we have ML and FL who seem to have anasthesia injection dripped into their heart and therefore, every scene and reaction is all so clinical. 🤦🤦

who watches for sane? I want full on masala and dhoom tana tana music. 😆 a cartoon episode has more action and emotional pull than this drama.

right now, am watching out of force of habit. am not surprised to see the rumours that the drama is winding up. it does feel like it is being written by a B team who don't know how to write a complex ML in a complex personal relationship web. instead, they write the teenager version -- love is the antidote for all problems. 🙄

Thanks for the tag on the other thread!

Yes I echo your thoughts, especially on Katha's stance as well. And I think we all agree that her dilemma is justified.

Absolutely! Would have loved if they explored the emotions with more depth. I remember the first ever promos that were aired. There was so much angst and intensity. I think we saw a very diluted fizzled out version because the makers were hesitant to bring up the ONS repeatedly? (Which does sound a bit hypocritical considering that the whole foundation of the show is based on that!)

And since then, the storyline has become like a separate love story.

One thing I had liked in Viaan's confession was him clarifying whether her rejection is because of their past and I was like "Thank god someone remembers" 😂 - Dont get me wrong tho! I really dont want them to start the whole 'paap' thing and make this a big deal. But sometimes it just seems that we are seeing two different stories.

Adnan as Viaan is adorable and I think that does the trick most of the time. Ofc I miss our old less smiling intense Viaan (because that is how I had pictured the character to be) but this new one is also cute 😂

I'm in a bit of a dilemma myself in terms of watching because I know Im not watching it with the same amount of interest that I used to initially but I dont want to let go completely either. Its a weird brain khichdi moment 😂

Exactly! Its as if the ons never happened! Its a little surprising to see how both have moved on completely! And I honestly dont know if that makes me seem like a backward minded person! But considering their initial character traits, it is a bit hard to believe right!?
