Priyanka Chopra brushes up on pay disparity in Bollywood again

In an interview with Film Companion, reports Koimoi.com, Priyanka Chopra was asked if she ever fought against pay disparity in India. The actress revealed she had while adding that she never asked for equal pay but a little more than she would be paid normally. "Woh bhi nahi milta tha. So, I just gave up the fight," she told the portal. Earlier Priyanka shared how the actors in Bollywood would be paid substantially big amounts while the actresses weren't even getting 10 percent of what the heroes made.

Actually, I don't like those generalizing criticism. If she feels the need to talk about this issue, why not name personal experience like "the hero got x amount and I got y amount".

Otherwise it's as valuable as her statement about getting marginalized in the Hindi filmindustry. Give some precise examples, otherwise it's just hopping on an often used bandwagon.

She had two movies where she had been the solo-lead, so tell what you got and then one can compare with what a hero got in one of her movies.

Why did she want a healthy marginal pay compared to SRK?

Why compare with SRK. Neither in Don nor in Don2 her role was as meaty as SRK's one. And the only other movie that had SRK as a (super-)hero, was Ra.One where she just had a small cameo.

No, one should look for movies like DDD or Dostana to do factual comparisons.

I agree.

Top actors getting paid too much also means cost cutting in other areas, and supporting actors and other workers will be affected, but they are invisible so who cares right?

So to me them talking about gender disparity is just eww… it’s just another delusion of imagined struggle in their grandiosity. They live in such a privileged bubble I just can’t.🤦‍♀️
