Lt. Naina is posted in Siliguri and assigned to work in a team to curb drug trafficing in the region. Rajveer as a fugitive is hiding in the tourist city of Darjeeling. Rajveer has seen Naina but Naina is not aware of the fact that Rajveer is living in that area.

Lt Naina Singh was pacing up and down. She was waiting near the Nepalese boder with three other soldiers to intecept the drug carrying truck. This was a part of her assignment in the Eastern Regiment.
She had read the report on drug trafficking minutely and has done some research on it. There were few local persons involved in it , either as accomplices or as informers to police. One of the informers interested her the most. He seemed to come from nowhere and vanished in thin air after each such interception. Today, Naina iwas more interested to find the informer than the trafficker themselves.
Naina held her pistol firmly. She needed the assuring touch of the cold metal to boost her for the ensuing operation. Drops of sweat appeared on her forehead. It was sultry and humid after the evening rainfall. Under her feet the ground was still wet and marshy, soiling her well polished boots with mud and dirt. She looked downwards and put her feet in a muddy hole.
"Naina will you stop laughing"
His voice echoed in her ears.
Why oh, why couldnt she forget him!
That was her past. A chapter in her life preciously locked up in her memory chest. But the mud and dirt reminded her of that night, the only night when they played truants and laughed together.
The only time, when Rajveer came out of his "I am a soldier" shell and showed his lighter side to her.
Was he already in love with her?
She did not know. She never got the chance to ask him.
She looked up at the sky!
The starry night sky of tropics, clear of clouds after the rain
That night also she had looked up like this while he was staring at her. She knew he was staring, but never let him know that she knew
Did she love him then?
When did she start to love him?
The first day she met him?
Or when he agreed to help her to get her friends back?
Or when he promised not to leak out her mystery to anyone?
She did not know.
But she could not remember a single night at KMA , when she never thought of him before going to sleep.
She could not remember a single day in KMA when to share something with Rajveer Sir was not the first thing she wanted to do in the morning.
She always loved him.
She fell in love with him the first night he found her picking up the photo of Navin
Only, she had never realized it.
The sound of the approaching truck brought her back to the present. She looked at her watch and waited with abated breath behind the bush. The headlight of the truck caught the army barricade on the road.
It slowed down and stopped just before the barricade. The driver swiftly turned the headlights off. The men who were in the truck jumped down on the road and started to run helter skelter.
The four soldiers came out from the hidings.
For a second Naina did not know whom to follow. She lit her torch and moved it around.
Who was the informer?
For a moment the light fell on a face half covered with green kerchief and the eyes blinked and looked downwards.
She was completely taken aback .
She had seen them before.
Her heart started to beat loudly
The man started to run, Naina followed him. The man entered the bushy jungle.
For a moment Naina lost him. But her soldier's instinct helped her to track him back fast.
Her boots made heavy sound on the muddy ground.
"Thud.... thud ..... shhh"
In the torchlight she could see the fresh bare feet imprints on the mud.
She followed the foorprints.
"Stop , i will shoot you"
Naina pointed the gun.
She was desparate.
She wanted this man.
She knew she had been waiting for this moment since last 1 year.
Suddenly the bushes gave away to an open space.
They came out of the bushes and found themsleves standing in am opening.
Rajveer could fight no more.
He knew he had to give up.
Without looking around , Naina jumped on the man to throw him on the ground
.
She found herself in his embrace.
Gasping for breath ,she looked up at him.
She slowly pulled away the kerchief hiding his mouth.
She knew her struggles are over.
She hid her face in is chest
They lay there , in each others embrace for the rest of the night.
The twinkling stars were the only witness to their act of love.
