Vikrant Massey: I am Not Paid as Much as Deepika Padukone

The actor revealed about how he is paid less than his female co-stars but has never made an issue out of it. Vikrant, in an interaction with ETimes said "Bahar ke jo so-called 'A-listers' he woh bhi platforms pe films kar rahe he. Humare 'so-called A-listers' he yaha ke, superstars he, pichle 15-20 saalon se TV pe kaam kar rahe he. (The 'so-called A-listers' from outside are releasing their films on streaming platforms, while some of our very own 'so-called A-listers' have been working in TV for the last 15-20 years) Most of my female co-stars have been paid more than me, I have never made a fuss about it. My big body of work does not give me as much money as you know, Deepika Padukone, of course." While speaking about his choice of movies and shows, he further added, "I am comfortable in doing things I feel about, or strongly about in social media... There have been days when I have taken a few comments about me, my family, my wife... to heart and I haven't been able to sleep that day."

So at least the debate of actresses aint getting paid as much as actors debate is settled now?

You mint money for the producers and you get money in return. It’s simple.

I was left unimpressed.

Yes he is a good actor. But does he have that charisma to pull off a Bollywood main lead? Probably not.

Looks play a big role and he is just not it unfortunately. Nor is he an Irfan that he has reached a level where conventional good looks dont matter for the audience.

They are getting paid in crores & lakhs yet still cribbing & complaining

Instead of paying the crores to these celebrities if given to a good cause there won't be poor being poorer & rich being richer tag in the country

Try Mirzapur. He was impressive as the "smart" brother who has no compunction using his brains and his brother's brawn to mint money making drugs and guns for Pankaj Tripathi. At the same time his love for his hulk-on-steroids brother Ali Fazal and gf makes him very human and relatable.

But he's a tier 3 actor? Ideally, he should be comparing himself to, say, Kalki Koechlin, or Radhika Apte. Seedha Deepika Padukone? LOL

Isn't that exactly what he's saying? That he does not expect to be paid as much as his more popular co-star. That he's fine with the status quo. The more successful and popular you are, the more that you can demand.
