Now another Mahabharat on Colors | |
Prithviraj Chauhan, Jai Ma Durga, Raavan, Ramayan , Jai Maa Vaishno Devi, two versions of Mahabharat… the mytho caravan rolls on across various channels. So why should the newly launched Colors( Viacom18) be far behind? Where Star Plus roped in Bobby Bedi to make the epic 9X got Ekta Kapoor. Reportedly Colors have assigned the task to mytho king Sagar Arts, who have joined hands with a new production venture Colosceum. A well placed source from the industry says, "Colors' Mahabharat will be different from the current ones. It will be a lord Krishna centric show and one would get to see all the happenings that have taken place in Lord Krishna's life, of which Mahabharat is the most important part. The hunt for the cast is on and it will air sometime in July." Ajeet Andhare, M.D and C.E.O, Colosceum, says, "I am not in a position to comment on the content of any show we are making for any channel. It is too early to speak as everything is in its initial stages. One is not even sure if it will be titled Mahabharat. You must speak to the channel on this." Ashwini Yardi, Programming Head, Colors, too remained tightlipped and said, "I can't comment on this. We will unveil the schedule in two weeks time." Moti Sagar from Sagar Arts remained unavailable as well. As the third version of Mahabharat is all set to be unveiled we do feel this is a sure case of overkill.
