Lolo is not some Meena Kumari or Nutan as a performer.

Infect Lolo was the one who did the most horrible over acting for a major part of her career specially from 91 till 96 among all of the 90s female starlets... .atleast Raveena could not be accused of over acting in her initial days, she did whatever was expected from a 90s potboilers heroine those days.

And Lolo became a good actress only in the last few years of her career, mainly in fiza, zubeida and Shakti and even all those 3 roles were high voltage, subtlety was never a thing for Lolo, she could not go deep into the skin of any character or could not deliver a layered performance with soft nuances unlike her contemporary Manisha, even Pooja Bhatt was better then Lolo in Zakhm and Tamanna in emotional roles.

Raveena did equally good when she got matured during those years just like Lolo in Satta, Daman, Aks and Shool... so saying she was better or slightly better an actress then Lolo is no crime.

She has no Padma awards.

Her films are not significant. Daman and Satta are only films where she did heavyweight acting.

Aks, Shool, Aalavandhan , and Dobara is pretty underrated as well. She was the most underrated performance in Andaz Apna Apna. She won best supporting actress for laadla where she was pitted against the great Sridevi.

A critic said this when she played a mentally disturbed patient in Dobara, "Raveena is in sync with her character, essaying her part with elaan". I thought she was brilliant.

Manisha and Pooja were far better than the likes of Raveena or Karishma. But you nailed my issue with Karishma. She was really an over-actor. And that quality never really went away. Her best was Zubeida. Even Fiza and Shakti she literally starts screaming some of the time.

There was a similar controversy with Karishma winning the award for Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Nisha was nothing challenging of a character. She mostly danced and exposed her figure in the film. Similar thing with Saif there was another huge controversy about his win. National Award still are more prestigious the IIFA believe it or not. 😆

Neither sound very good right about now. IIFA is still a nice spectacle. Or it was I havent seen it since 2019

Most of these films are flops and less known.

Shool was totally dominated by Manoj Bajpai and is considered the Zanjeer moment of his career.

Raveena is not of a calibre to receive Padma award IMO.

Neither was Saif or Akki.

I am not from india but i heard this award belongs to highest civilian award and my question is does actors deserves such prestigious award? What is their contribution towards the country and the citizens of th country. Did they sacrifice anything & anybody of their personal lives for the country to make the country a better place. Why are they being awarded in the first place when they are just doing their job,get paid in crores and buy the luxuories of the world for themselves what is their contribution.

Even prestigious award has become a big time joke

As for Raveena honestly she is a good actress & dancer but she ruined her own career due to her own stupid decision made in her petsonal life. I can't blame her too she was too blind in her so called love for cassanovas

Maybe due to her being a hindu or knowing some politicians or insider... Who knows..

Well, Aish received one. Raveena is a much better actress at least 😆
