i knew people have affairs and have 2-3 relationships but not that it was legally feasible. I always thought it was unofficial because usually the women dont feel empowered enough to complain. but i didnt realize it could be done so kullam khulla. I always thought people like dharmendra or boney kapoor or other such film people who were well known who have more than 1 wife - had all legally separated from first wife. I know for example even that Salim khan is living with Helen and Salma but I always thought Salma was separated from Salim Khan but for children's sake she lived in the same building as her ex-husband and kids. and now everyone is cordial. Didnt realize people are simultaneously married to more than one person.

Man, mujhe toh law ka koi idea hi nahi tha. i assumed being married to two people at the same time is not legal. I do know that in some countries polygamy is legal. but I didnt know in India also there are exceptions.

wow. so its a common theme with both these individuals that they are using some exceptions to the law to get away with 2 marriages. I completely understand that many women dont have the bandwidth , finances or time to deal with Indian judiciary to apply for a divorce. Divorce grant hone ke liye kaafi procedures honge. but thats why I assumed that to be practicing bigamy, you have to "hide" the relationship meaning that it needs to be unofficial even if its not actually a secret. or the legal wife just goes to live separately even though on paper she is the wife. for example I have read that even PM is actually married and never got legal divorce although he is living separately forever. but vahaan 2 wives ka scandal toh nahi hai.
