Rupali is good actress lmaoo and she is really good as Anupama. It is a daily soap and these actors shoot long hours for years so we can't expect Oscar worthy acting but she does her best with the script she's given.

Yes Anupama character can be little annoying but the show is still better than a lot of shows airing at the moment.

I think with actors like GK and Chavi overshadowing her, her skills or lack of them are seeming more apaprent recently

She WAS very good but has become one dimensional and repetitive

Your point falls flat when you can see other actors act better in the same show

It's dislike towards anupamaa character and not against Rupali though everyone can have subjective opinions on her acting too as she is an actress so will get accolades as well as criticism both . As per me Anupamaa the character now has been messed up to an extent by makers that instead of feeling sympathy for her ( which is makers goal) some of us just feel annoyed by her due to her God syndrome and rupali as anupamaa was good when show started but in my opinion she is overdoing some gestures while enacting her scenes 😊

Woah hate is a very strong word. I do criticise her onscreen character but have never hated RG. Although many here feel that she is a good actress, I am not inline with that view. But that’s subjective to everyone’s opinions. As you feel Anupama the character is a great character and RG the actress is a good actress, likewise I feel the opposite but haven’t posted anything hateful about her.
If criticising her acting and dancing is considered as hate then I have nothing to say here

Well, I'm glad I stay away from any content about the show on other sites. Here, there's the scope of discussions being mature as well as humorous with most people commenting quite sanely and there's a lot of creative expression as well.

I'm going to write to the management of Dawn Valley Kolej to suggest starting a 3 month course on Cognitive Abilities as there's a huge need for the same. Maybe, they can get it endorsed by their star student (who knew more than the instructor) and then they'd surely have a lot of takers for this course. 😆

When has "disliking" a CHARACTER become synonymous with "hating" an actor?.?

I don't hate RG, infact have been a huge fan since SvS.

But the problem is with how serials usually progress in ITV. They start on a high note, extreme attention to detail, no loud dialogues, bg music chosen as per the situation.

When this show started there were so many nuanced portrayals. A simple scene where Anupamaa talks about the loss of her own father and how it caused her hasty marriage made us feel so bad. We got all those understated scenes in lockdown where there were no technical privileges and loud bg music, and the actors solely relied on good performance. We even understood Vanraj's achhe pita take.

But all went downhill when the makers got repetitive with the seva-insult-kickout-return-seva cycle. Anupamaa tried to still be a daughter to ex-parents-in-law and mother to her kids, FINE.

Then she got insulted, big drama, high TRPs, okay lesson learnt.

So the show should have moved forward with either retribution of the offenders or Anupamaa progressing in life right???

But NO, the makers treated this as an opportunity and kept repeating the pattern so that each insult drama scene gets high TRPs. This cycle has been repeated atleast 7 times now, three times after MaAn marriage. Hence the character is heavily trolled for lack of self-respect

Think about it, how will you feel if MaAn eventually reunites and a stale script of Anupamaa returning to SH to fix someone's problem by ignoring Anuj happens again.

Coming to RG now, think about any actor you like. The said actor does something unique and you applaud. They repeat the same kind of performance in another scene, you still clap. But after 5th or 6th repeat it gets boring.

When RG started off with Anupamaa, she was hailed as a unique performance, wearing simple clothing, no loud makeup, carrying that cheap fabric bag and wallet and basic phone with Achyutam Keshavam. She sounded relatable to so many being exploited as housewives. But those relating to her want their times to change too, right. If after 3 years we are seeing her in the exact same garb, it gets frustrating and also disappointing for viewers who were actually looking forward to be inspired from her.

Hence we troll her for things like lack of hygeine by constantly wiping her nose in her pallu while crying. It looked relatable as Anupamaa Shah who was so busy she couldn't take care of herself, it doesn't look remotely nice as Dance teacher Anupamaa or as Anupamaa Kapadia.

RG is not a bad actress. But if a show is claiming to be more than just masala junk entertainment and to be a social gamechange, they should stick to their promise. But again, she has bills to pay and as a careerwoman myself l cannot blame her much.

Can only blame the people who are appreciating such a portrayal which is encouraging makers to do more. Baaki aap khud samajhdar ho

I don't hate Rupali. I don't know her enough to love or hate her. Another reason is that I'm not into off screen stuff. I get to see one or two here and there. So, if you ask me about my opinion about her, I won't be able to give a sound opinion but the little I saw her I didn't like. But that's not enough for me to hate her.

For me the only thing that truly matters about an actor is their acting skills (which has nothing to do with the character but yes, a good actor with good character is cherry on top and enhances the viewing experience). For example I loved Abhay Raichand but didn't like Vivian's acting at all (PKYEK). Loved Vikram's acting skills but Atharva's character was bore and had nothing to offer (JNDSD).

Anupa as a character has disgusted me to the core. There are many reasons such as her hypocrisy, perpetual victim mentality, refusing to change for the better, being doormat for Shahs, negligent for Anu, over pampering to the kids who character assassinate her, refusing to admit to her mistakes, worshipping her abusers and licking their as* all the time, endless and meaningless bhashans to name a few.

As far as Rupali's acting is concerned, I loved her as Monisha. I haven't watched any other show of her to judge correctly but to me it seems like she is just not fit to be Anupama. The over the top mannerisms and gestures she has added to the character (which are thought be the chef's kiss) have actually ruined her for me. The subtleness which is required from a mature woman's mannerisms is absent from her.

But I'm not saying she's not a good actor. For me, she's just not Anupama.

Just my point of view.
