Vikram karthi and the chola bgm in the end are the best things abt the trailer

The less I see of the rest of the dullards , the better

I tried watching part 1 but couldn't sit through after first 15 mins. The story telling is not viewer friendly at all.

Maniratnam made a wrong choice with this. It should have been made as web series.

Looks like Maniratnam couldn't move on with changing times and viewers tastes. If he did he would have made this story into a web series

The trailer tells you everything -if you know where to look. The Aishwarya - Vikram chemistry is simmering at the end with her sword on his throat. Would they kiss and make up or will she go ahead with her revenge? Aish is looking gorgeous and menacing in revenge mode. The dialogues are so good like the stress on "I" or "Maine" in the following dialogue.

Nandini: Aditya Karikalan would come. Because it is I who called him.

Anyway will always be thankful to Mani Ratnam for showing two strong ambitious women who are experts at playing politics.

Wow! Just wow 😲❤️

It seemed like I was watching some big scale international film. Indian film industry has come a long way. Amazing 👏

I agree that Mani Ratnam sped through the narrative without expanding much on the characters enough. And then there is the non-linear timeline with flashbacks popping up. Basically Karthi is passed around like a lucky coin between the 3 Chola Royal Siblings. But try giving it a second chance on OTT. It is not every day that we get such a variety of characters- each with their own arc and ambitions. The melodrama and romance is just the right amount without going overbroad to SLB territory. Women as well as men scheme for power. Love does not solve everything. There is conflict over choosing duty or love. Living with regrets either way.

The wiki on PS1 is super confusing. Film Companion has put up a lovely piece on the characters showing who is loyal to whom and relationships between them. (Skip down to the characters).

The chemistry between Aishwarya and Vikram 🔥

It's been a while I have seen something like that, it's all in the eye one is slaying, the other one wanting to be slayed 💔

Say whatever the older ones had that charm and know how to build that chemistry and intensity, rest all I see now are empty glances!

Looks like an epic. Feels like second part is going to be even better than the first. Loving evil Aishwarya's fierce looks and acting. It's her swan song. It's going to end with a bang. Can. Not. Wait.

Swansong? I I hope not. Here's hoping Aish's performance here opens more doors for her. I don't how she pulled off that vulnerable, teary eyed, resolute look in the confrontation scene with Vikram. Reminds me a lot of her Jodhaa days which is feat considering she's so much older now. She's too good to be wasted on Bhabhi roles or cameos which is Bollywood's solution for older women who are not Tabu.
