Also, though Shanta wants to represent Assamese food which is okay but I felt the starter could've been better presented like it looked insufficient or could've been better presented. I felt plating of Swarna with prawns could've had an extra element whereas Nayan's was looked heavy from the visual still itself which is okay. Though I'm interested in how he cooks the duck since that takes time to cook and how much the heaviness favors the dish.
Maybe it's different for others, but I did like how Shanta cooked the chicken in the bamboo leaves since I haven't seen that type of cooking tbh.
I'm kinda shocked that all are doing it one platter instead of 4. Such an easy pass to
I remember in one of the previous seasons they had to cook in Bamboos. Itâs tricky as far as Iâm aware.
I quite liked Shantas idea and presentation both. It was something different. Also, when we have starters itâs usually without a gravy, though chutney maybe served.
I agree Nayanâs dish seemed heavy for a starter course. In my opinion duck isnât difficult to cook, and it takes about 20 minutes. He was saying itâs popular in the North east so Iâm sure he knows what heâs doing.
Suvarnas starter didnât excite me at all. Pan fried prawns with a thecha and a foam. Iâm glad though her flavours were good. Sheâs gradually grown on me.
