Agree. I started recently after seeing the clips on insta. I hasn’t watch all the episodes but then recently started from the start. And you right AB supported her a lot. Infact initially I was really irritated with her. Her love for her family was a bit too much specially AR. I mean someone goes on betraying you and u still forgive that person. He supported her every step of the way. But AK always made him look like a fool.

There was also an episode when he shouted at the GKs. He even tells them exactly what we would love too. Why is it anything AR does is forgiven and not AK. Why Everytime AK has to sacrifice and leave. If AR lost her mother so did AK. Just cause she keeps quiet and is the elder one she has to pay the price. AR manipulates her all her life she did that and blackmail her but u guys just keep quiet. How can you treat her that way.

AK trying to be great initially caused a lot of issues. No doubt AB too never thinks before he does anything.

I just hate the AR character. Can’t even say she acts so well that we hate her. The things she has done.

Very sensible post. I am not the OG viewer, I might've been 10 or so when ye rishta started and I remember it used to play on the tv. My mother used to love this show and now when I tell het about it, she doesn't believe its the same show because of the way they butchered the characters.

Now what I believe is, people started watching this show for two reasons (HC and/or Ye rishta legacy) and I can be wrong. I started watching it for HC and I still watch it for him. People didn't know how the leads would develop or so but Abhira did make a name. I wouldn't say I religiously watched this show because there were some tracks that were boring and I would stop/keep up with the promos and then come back.

Coming to the current track, I know a lot of people are complaining because its taking longer than usual for the leads to reunite but what will cvs do after reuniting them? The show will solely not run on two good looking people romancing and that's exactly why shows don't run on goody good romance but problems and issues because that's what the audience wants. Right now there is so much to be shown such as both the leads realizing their mistakes including everyone else realizing their mistakes. Abhir's truth, and then Abhi making his place in Abhir's life as a father. He loves him as docman but accepting him as his father will be completely different and will rely on Abhinav's exit.

Coming to Abhinav. I think people wanted a toxic abusive drunk Abhinav who would have been abusing Akshara and Abhimanyu to come to her rescue but it didn't go that way. He's an amazing man yet people have a problem with him? So good men in ITV are not normal yet we crave them in real life? Why is it so hard for us to accept that people move on? What's the problem with Akshara moving on, Abhinav dying/leaving, and Abhira uniting again. Akshara can't reunite with Abhimanyu after moving on? Will she no longer be good for him? Abhinav saved a stranger, took care of her during her vulnerable time, took care of her child like his own, and never expected anything in return but if Akshara does something for him its cringe? People question the actor's acting just because they don't like the character? I think some fans don't realize how far they can go but I don't blame them because I remember people had issues with the age difference between Abhira for the longest time and I used to be like why don't I see it lol.

@ Italic: Even I want Abhinav to turn negative. It has nothing to do with the actor or my real life feelings towards amazing men. I have been with the same man for more than 15 years now - it was both of our first relationships, we were barely adults, and we're still together because he is an amazing man. I don't watch TV for real men though - it is escapism for me. My favorite plotline of the contemporary romance genre is the groveling hero trope. Paradise, The Sweet Gum Tree, The Unwanted Wife etc. My husband has never had to even apologise to me (except for falling asleep while I talked😆), so it had nothing to do with real good men.

I don't think Akshara won't be good enough - but, and you can call me shallow, which I accept I am - it is very nauseating to me as a viewer who roots for AbhiRa as a couple. I hated Sirat and Kartik together. I have loved just once, and I know cannot do it again. So that's where my own prejudice about Abhi/Akshu comes in. For me, if Akshara falls in love with Abhinav and comes back after that, the whole untouched aura of first love goes away which is what this season was shown to be about - all of the three characters fell in love for the first time and how that shaped their lives.

Punar Vivah is such a great story about falling in love again; I love Satya as the new ML in Ghum or Shiv as Anandi's hero or Anuj as Anu's new love. Because the ML's were far too gone to be redeemed. Abhi is not - he is guilt-stricken, still in love and highly traumatised. And he has but made one huge mistake. HUGE but he's still grieving and not happy. I want to hit him hard over the head with a brick but I still empathise with him - maybe because HC is a phenomenal actor.

Abhinav negative just makes for better watching as an Abhira shipper, not as a regular feminist woman, I suppose. I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just saying that as someone who likes Abhimanyu and Akshara together, I want Abhimanyu to be Akshara's saviour this time. It's not going to happen because Abhinav will be positive as long as he stays, so people write about him as a villain to soothe their own grievances against the makers for ruining Abhira.😆

Also Abhinav dying after Akshara falls in love is just...crappy because like I said, the body count of this show is too damn high. Crime Patrol hota toh people would have mistaken Akshara to be a serial killer looking at the sheer number of people who keep dying around her. 🤣 And because, like I said, I want both Abhimanyu and Akshara to be ride or die. If either of them falls for someone else, AbhiRa ship dies FOR ME. Then, I'd also want Abhi to move on because he doesn't deserve to be alone all his life either. A lot of people will consider it redemption for Abhi to love a woman who moved on from him, but as a viewer I'd dislike it. That's my personal opinion.

that’s why I always say Abhimanyu’s character was butchered …the character themselves forgot what was written of him before…actually same holds true for akshara too …everything they have made topsy turvy n thinking oh how great we are how creative we are lmao …moron creatives n makers all of them

I don't know why Abhinav is hailed as a hero of some sort and people think that in retaliation, Abhi needs to bring up Abhinav-Akshara's kid to show he is a good man? Really? While I agree with the supporting a pregnant woman bit - Abhi did not know Akshu was still pregnant when she left. Does it make up for his actions of the white day? Nope. But Abhinav helped a pregnant woman who he came to have a "relationship" with. Abhimanyu will have to bring up a kid of the woman he loved/loves since forever.

Abhi has done a lot of mistakes, but people seem to be forgetting that he has actually helped Akshu a lot too. The first time she ever stood up for herself was because of him, he tried to give her a musical therapy department, wanted to put her life over that of his kids, tried to get her music career going at home itself, his love actually made her open her mouth against Arohi herself. He degraded himself in front of Arohi to protect Akshu's emotions. None of that is toxic. He was wrong on the day of the death - but grief is a f*cked up emotion. Losing your kids, and a brother who you considered your child is not an easy thing. Especially for someone who comes from a broken family in the first place. Top it off with a wailing mother who spews nonsense, he made mistakes - he's been suffering to six years.

I don't understand why people think that Abhinav has been the only supportive force for Akshara so far. Abhi has done a lot for Akshu and people are quick to forget all his good deeds because of his mistakes.

People have to notice that he is trying to make up for his mistakes. After being rebuffed by Akshu, he's not gone back to beg for her love. For him, she has moved on, has had a kid with someone else, and the only thing he can do is salvage the only relationship that brings him any joy as of now - Ruhi.

Akshu, on the other hand, is an enigma packed inside 200 kg of kohl. With the whole mera pati and MS/sindoor sh*t, they've completely ruined her entire make-up. Couldn't she have brought up her son alone? A son whose identity she has still hidden from the actual father - a father who has mourned the loss of his two children for six years.

Bade Papa and Abhi gave her the option of living in a nuclear family. Abhi was quite adamant about it, Akshu was the one who wanted to become a bahu yada yada yada.

I don't know how one mistake makes AbhiRa toxic and Abhinav becomes the God.

I am not trying to change anyone’s perspective. I said it on another post. People have their own set views about the characters and that shall remain. You like Abhinav and that’s fine. I joined the show only as an AbhiRa shipper, not an Abhimanyu and not an Akshara fan, so my feelings regarding them are always going to be different. I also know a lot of people here have not liked Abhimanyu’s character from the beginning even before the first confession; I’ve been here a long time, so I know which people like what, who and why. So, I’m mostly wary about writing anything about Abhi without being called out for it.

I explained my reasons on why he is not completely unredeemable, if you don’t feel the same way, it’s cool. I don’t think of Abhinav as a great character - I would explain that, but most people here would not want to listen to it, and I mostly stay away from fan wars so that shall remain my personal theory. My post was about Abhimanyu as an individual and not really comparing him to the new PL; you can skim through all my posts - I have not talked about any other character other than Abhi and Akshu as my focal point. Except for coming up with my own story for the future.

Yeah and I totally respect that. I’m more of a realistic type of person and doesn’t usually live in delusional scenarios and that’s probably why I relate more to reality. I’m not seeing a problem with Akshara moving on and reuniting again so at this point I’m just going the flow.

I wouldn’t say that not moving on from a partner is delusional. It is the reality for many people. My mother never remarried after my father’s death - it was her choice, no one compelled her. My grandmother was alone for 55 years and never moved on romantically after losing her husband at the age of 27. I’m not saying moving on is wrong - just that not moving on is the reality for many people too.
As for realistic, for me the real world is morose enough that I would rather watch something happy.

In a realistic world, Akshara would have gone for therapy, Abhi would have gone for therapy and Harsh/Parth would be in jail, Arohi’s medical license would still be suspended, Mahima would also be jailed for hiding evidence. Goenkas would be far more concerned about their daughter living with a stranger and just plain ashamed of themselves. Realistic hai kya in the show?!

If Akshara moves on, why reunite them at all? If they fall in love with other people, let them actually move on and keep Abhi and Akshu separate. I don’t want them to play footsie with their love and the viewers’ emotions. Do not equate the lead couple to Shiv Parvati/ Soulmates/ Wishing well wishes, just to randomly give it all up. It’s like the first 5 months of the show never even happened. All the symbolism they kept throwing around - makes me nauseous.
