Both Ehsan and Viaan have mommy issues. They are compensating through their interest in Katha.

Katha comes across as a very strong woman, who will go to any length for those she loves. Viaan and Ehsan need a woman like Katha who will look after them, protect them and care for them. We don't know much about the backstop of Ehsan's family but we know that Viaan played the role of adult in his dysfunctional relationship with his mother.

I feel that one aspect that the show completely ignores is regarding how Viaan does not consider the feelings that Ehsan has for Katha. It's quite strange to me that despite Ehsan confessing to Viaan that he 'loves' Katha, Viaan goes on with his life and wonders about how he can propose to Katha!! 😂 I mean, if I was in the same situation as him, I would be quite disturbed thinking about whether it is indeed ethical for me to actively pursue the person who my best friend is so serious about. I hope that Viaan thinks about it, and goes through conflicting emotions as well.
