Yes, tere bin is considered fluff. Love stories rake in big money but the respect comes from serious projects. Wahaj himself would likely put Jo bichad Gaye over Tere bin because even creatively the former would be more satisfying.

Same with Yumna. She loves to take up serious subjects so though Tere Bin is winning her accolades, she probably finds more satisfaction is a project like Dil na umeed toh nahi.

Even viewers would watch Tere Bin just to unwind but would prefer a show like Alif to have intellectual conversations.

There is no bigger A lister than Yumna who has pretty much gone on record to say this is her Massey show…a show for the masses…where she will get to dress, and not have much depth or character development in the story. Thappad is considered a very massy thing in PTV.
its not about looking down on romance, the fact is every OTV show has a romance angle. There is no show which doesn’t, but every PTV show also has a social and family angle. There are very deep writers - who are actually novel writers whose novels and plays get made into dramas - this writing is romance heavy and has definite character development and arc. TB is a made for tv writing which is quite episodic driven and not character driven. Such shows are for masses, they keep in mind what will people enjoy…it’s frankly how ITV has built its business model on,

You pretty much answered it I guess. So it is mainly the ITV style episodic writing with the romance as the central attraction is what is getting all the outrage.

So actors, especially A-listers like Yumna and now Wahaj shouldn't do such shows? Does it take away their credibility was my question.
