This is why I love Wahaj in this role. He can play the fun “friend” role convincingly, in addition to the mature, responsible, and protective role. When he was walking with Meerub in the kheer scene, I saw flirty but also pure fun. Like he was truly enjoying her company. Wahaj’s expressions were so genuinely happy, like he got a new toy!

Exactly excellent casting choice, how easily he can speak in that friendly patient tone, and then the very next moment become flirty caring husband, and also threaten her when required which shows his more grey/dangerous side.

I feel that when Mariyam was telling Maa Begum that Murtasim would not take humiliation and would stop the marriage if the extended family members made fun when Anwar's name was taken instead of Waqas's name Meerab thought that she would make Murtasim sign the contract at the time of the marriage because if the marriage did not happen it would be humiliating for Murtasim so he had to sign the contract. And may be she thought about the contract after she decided to get married to Murtasim.

Honestly as much as meerab pasand hein murtu ko bcz of her strong nature.

He would fall for mahjabeen's innocence too. Mahajabeen is not dumb, she is purely filled with innocence.

If any kind of girl i don't see murtasim being at all attracted to is

1) haya - jo apne self respect ka value bhi na janey. Mard ke agey piche usse paney ke liye besharam ki tarha ghume

2) MAHEER. Yes there i said it. Girls like maheer would never be able to get his attention. Maheer would be like that 2 takkey ki plain rice for him. Would easily make him feel bore.

So for a man like murtasim either meerab or mahajabeen types of girls would work like magic 🔥 they would be able to get his attention without even trying a bit! He would automatically feel attracted towards opposite characters like these 2.

What do you guys think?

(Other can share their thoughts too, mujhe name yaad rakhne mein problem hoti hei to sabko tag nahi kar payi)

From the time I saw d mahajabeen n Murtasim edit, so so badly wanted them to be a pair.

This would be like a love story of a lamb and a wolf or the King of the underworld (Hades) and Persephone (goddess of spring). Forbidden but when it happens, the destroyer will become their protector...

I would totally enjoy it n so would murtu at mahajabeen's antics 😭😭

If any writer wants to write an is OS on them, pls do.. I want to know how the story spans out 😅

So, I keep seeing all the funny edits of Murtasim running after Meerab. 🏃 He doesn’t want to leave her for a minute it seems ❤️

The way I see it, it’s not just because of his love, lust, and feeling of responsibility for her. In Meerub, he has also found a true friend figure, someone on the same level of intelligence and spirit, and worthy and capable of being his friend. He calls her “yaar” on the bhooth balcony scene, and a few other times I think. I think this is significant. Hear me out:

To me, Murtasim was a sad, lonely, and burdened young man that had his dreams and probably some of his youth ripped away from him to assume the immense responsibility of the family and the Gaddi Nasheen-dom. He has no friends apparently, and perhaps no time for friends, and bhaktu doesn’t count 😂. He doesn’t even have a truly friendly equation with his sister, unlike Saad and Nilo. Thats probably why he was aloof and eternally pissed off, “hamesha” as Meerub declared in epi 2 to Haya. The man was alone and there was nobody to really share this weight with and lighten his soul.

Until, Meerab was betrothed and hitched to him, that is. He is attracted to her but also he generally sees her as his equal in many respects like her attitude, courage, and their urge to protect others. They talk to eachother on the same level, with familiarity and obviously some comfort. I bet, aside from her nakhre, Meerub is pretty fun to hang out with. Their nok jhok is fun and she is generally smart. (Unlike a Haya type that is good for “wifely” duties and that’s about it.) Meerub is a true “Saathi” for him, and she fills and has the potential to fill that void of loneliness in many aspects, both as a wife and as a friend. He sees and feels that.

When Murtasim pines for her, like especially when he was getting ready for the Gaon trip, I see him yearning for her company as a friend, not just as a love interest. Like the friend that always wants to hang out because they’re lonely (but he won’t necessary admit it.) It makes me sad for him 😭 But perhaps it’s also why a King Khan like him would EVER agree to marry her without a physical relationship. (Even if he intends to get to that point too!)

Obviously the writer views her husband as her best friend and partner in life, and I really feel that she’s trying to infuse that friend aspect of marriage in Murtasim and Meerab’s equation.

And I love this. I hope you have found and will all find a true friend in your spouses and partners, if you choose to have one. It may take time.

Oh Meerab, you might not realize it, as your experience of friendship is only with the Rohail type; but aside from being hot and probably all qayamat in the sheets, your shohar will be a really good friend to you too!

You penned it really well. I believe there is a lot to intersect when it comes to their characters, especially Murtasim's.

The point you made about the writer is very well true. You can see, she sees her husband as a true companion with the way she talked about him and his unwavering support for her.

For once, we are seeing a full blown journey of two people towards love, companionship and each step will remain dear to me. Especially until now, I have begun to cherish their journey. They are discovering each other's core personalities and making advances far more organic than something that would end, once they attain each other.

Oh about the 'loner' part, you're so right. He is a lonely man, who had a constant frown on his face and walked and talked as if the burden of an entire world rested on his shoulders. His mother doesn't seem the one who was a friend to him either, he seems to have no male friends, his sister and him share more of a respectful/protective bond than an easy-going one. Haya is plain obsessed with him and no one would enjoy a company like her, simply because she would use no brains if she became his wife. If he'd say the sun arose from the west, she'd believe it. No fun there either.

So, Murtasim definitely isn't seeking just a wife out here, he's seeking an escape, a companion, a friend he can hang out and have fun with, a home within the huge mansion, a family beyond his family and only Meerab can give him that.

He has started smiling more often now. The lighter scene is the first time he smiled wide, on the night of their walima. Her antics make him smile and he starts goofing around to get even more 'fun' reactions out of her.

He doesn't say it for the sake of saying that 'tum mujhe aise hi pasand ho' to her 'main typical caring wife nahi hoon' 😆 he genuinely likes her for who she is, even with all her flaws and tantrums. Call her a brat, but he loves this brat. Meerab's quite lucky here, no wonder Haya is losing her sanity.

wonder if there was no contract what would have been his stance on marriage? Would he have put in same amount of efforts to entice her or simply let her take her time to adjust.

Interesting! *in either M or M's voice, since both the husband and wife seem to use the word a little too much these days*

I doubt, even without the contract, they'd have anything going on between them just as quick. He would have made some bolder advances initially but their marriage didn't begin on a solid ground either. So a silence from both ends initially is something that sounds believable.

Obviously, Meerab's contract created quite some stir inside him and now he's pursuing her with a lot more determination than he would have, if there was no contract. It's like having withdrawal symptoms once you're denied of something. She really was foolish there. 😆
