I also read just now in IF main page, another show named Ajooni also had a fire accident today.
Enat’s going on with these sets snd location? There are so many people working- cast and crew, looks like there no safety precautions taken in any of the sets and many of these shows employ children too 😕
When I look at these artist rooms with no windows, scars the heck out of me, looks like a dungeon with no ventilation. Can’t they all given atleast a Clerestory windows at the top of the wall? It is like these artists are sitting in a fitting room of a clothing store😔
These PH people need to keep safety of all the cast and the crew as their first priority no matter what. There ate no shortcuts to it,
not only on set they have poor safety measures & complete lack of emergency precautions.
Between sets apparently they have No fire rated barrier/ safety distances (setbacks)
Ajooni & banni are adjoining set to ghum. So apparently fire spread / fire danger spread there as well.
It is So horrible to watch those videos & casual responses!!!
thank stars, no one is hurt.hopefully.
this should be the lesson learned.
Anyways india overall building codes- be it safety, structural integrity, Accessibility - all are non existent. Just on paper. No one follows. No one cares.
Had recently read what Shaheer sheikh has shared: fire in his in-laws high rise building & how they got his FIL in wheelchair & family out.
Again: no safety measures, no basic required infrastructure integrity, no emergency & evacuation alternatives.
Us who work here always have this talk with our peers in architecture: all practicing in India don’t do 1/8 of what we do here to make a building actually work! For all.
Many of their own offices / buildings won’t pass even first round in planning here. Forget getting it built.
Even smallest things: when it comes to people: safety & accessibility are nonnegotiable.
In my greater area we have yearly diwalimela/ sponsored by sitara or zee-Sony. That’s how I know their Chanel officials here.
as an architect & community member I help local desi organizer groups Layout & get permits for fair booth layouts. We usually have 60-80 booths including food area. City permits for this event includes Fire, Publicworks, all.
We make sure food booths are clubbed together & have fire rated tent materials- fire /cooking areas are well equipped with safety tools.
Booths are not more than certain numbers in the row & between two sets off booths there is Min reqd distance for emergency vehicles to pass through. There is evacuation plan. All this for even one weekend event.
And when you see horrible casual approach they have back home, it honestly bothers.
I do make sure to talk about codes & safety & accessibility it whenever I go as guest speaker in my alma mater when visiting india. Hope some young ones catch it!
