i want to play devil advocate and give murtasim credit for trying to think like a wise leader. This seems to be a feud stretching for decades, maybe he is sick of it all. His life is in constant threat that he needs armed guards. Before he was a lonely sher he didn’t fear death but with meerab kidnapping he has never been more afraid of losing loved ones. It is not that he is stupid in love, he wants to ensure the safety of his workers and tenants, he wants his wife to run after baby goats safely if she so wishes. Since the previous tactic of using threats has not worked, why not try truce and peace. It is not just about getting in meerab good books, he wants to live a long and happy life with meerab and he can’t do that if he has to constantly watch his back. He has dreams now and those dreams are bigger than his ego and pride.

yes all this could backfire, but John Lennon sang famously give peace a chance.
