Underrated good characters by top stars?

What are some characters and films by top stars that are underrated or noticed or talked of less, but deserve greater recognition in your opinion?

I think SRK in Dear Zindagi is one of his best characters ever and very relevant in a nation where there is less awareness of therapy and how therapeutic relations work.

Aamir in TZP is a dream teacher for any kid (whether a kid has dyslexia or not). He is also solid in Earth as a traumatised character who has change in heart once he sees his family killed in partition. Probably his best performance as an actor is Earth.

Salman is the first mainstream star to play an AIDS patient in Phir Milenge and I think it was a brave film to do in mid 2000s.

Amitabh's best IMO are Kaala patthar and Shakti which are good depictions of traumatised characters due to shame, guilt, parental neglect, feeling of being abandoned by parents when he needed them. AB Sr was quite understated in these films and his eyes did the talking. It is strange how these films are less talked of when people discuss his career.

I think Arjun is Sunny's best and most raw work till date.

What are some underrated characters and films that you like and feel they got less attention and less credit?

sunny in damini, it was a big hit in those days but kind of forgotten

ajay devgan in hddcs, thakshak,

rajnikanth in chaalbaaz, he really matched up to sridevi

jackie in ram lakhan, 1942 love story, it was understated

salman in khamoshi

akshay kumar in dtph, i liked him the best in that, all others overacted, it is precursor to salman's character in kuch kuch hota hain

Jackie is criminally underrated as an actor.

He was fabulous in Parinda, Ram Lakhan, Kaash etc. He is best in intense roles. He has a great voice and voice modulation. It is a shame he is hardly talked of as an actor and only mentioned for his rugged manly sex appeal or bhidu type language.

True that. That movie was a pain with each and every single character hamming away to their glory.😭

And talking about precursor, is it just me who found kkhh more like a sequel to dtph with Kajol replacing Karishma and Rani replacing Madhuri?

yep, pretty much a rehash, i find all kjo movies take bits and pieces from here and there and cobble it together

atleast mpk, hahk, ddlj, qsqt were all totally fresh and original when they came

yes, kaash was a great movie, he is very underrated

also dimple is a great actress and made a great comeback after kids and a bad marriage, sagar, kaash, then roles like rudaali, lekin,

she made a great pair with jackie
