Sadly no US airline flies direct now. I think United only does to Delhi. But others don’t even connect on their own metal from Europe - just partners.

AI sucks big time. Thinking to take kiddo for the first time. Any recommendation or tips. We are taking father in law ashes to haridwar but afraid to take her to those places. Hubby visited india only twice after moving to states. So he is out of touch. Gujrat, rajsthan and maharastra we can manage but up is different ball game.

Yep flew to bombay and straight to delhi. Visited akshardham next day drove to vrindavan mathura and over night stay at agra. Visited agra in morning and flew to amritsar from delhi. Amritsar to surat next day(missed the flight so back to mumbai and road trip to shirdi and surat). It was busy but doable once we got to gujrat. Gujrat trip was by car. Driving at night..driver missed the exit and we ended up in junagadh by mistake when coming back from kutch.

We booked everything from here thru india voyager company in delhi. The company was so good.

for the kid. The usual. Bottled water. Pasteurized milk. No raw veggies. Fruits. Etc. You know the usual.

For Haridwar. I recommend - if you gonna take a dip into Ganges. We found Rishikesh far better and cleaner. Crystal clear Ganges waters thaaa.

I like Dehradun and frankly Mussorie we really liked a lot. We like mountains. What is the timing your time of trip. Valley of flowers there is fab (our trip wasn’t timed well to go there but it’s one of a kind treasure j am told).

that’s doable around Haridwar. So one trip possibility.

Others to think
Maharashtra. -

Tadoba. I have an affinity for forests now.
Short and sweet not far places from Mumbai are lonavala / panchagni / Mahabaleshwar. If You can fly into Pune might be better for those vs drive from Mumbai - Those are like 3 nights / 4 day trips.

Deolalee near Nashik is famous for short breaks
rajasthan - honestly you can’t go wrong. Palaces and stuff. Jaipur / Udaipur. Ranthambore .. etc. Lots and if you don’t want safari type trips with younger kid. I think Rajasthan might be better.

Gujarat - I am guessing you have seen a lot. And prolly know more than me even but plenty to do — Mount Abu is fab also.

Let me know if that’s a good list. Btw. How old is your kid. If you don’t mind me asking. I can also ask my sis if she has other ideas based on kids age.

Junagadh is a good mistake. Good place. I was so impressed with Akshardham. And Gandhinagar overall. (Been a while tho since I went there). I am telling you. Still that’s a lot you did.

Jasoosji we get 2 weeks vacation at a time after months in advance notice. Who says slavery is gone? Modern day slavery still exist in name of educated labrorers. It looks good on paper that they offer 5 weeks time off. In reality, 2 weeks max you can take off at once.😡

my current job is first time I was told. Omg. You taking 2 weeks together. 🤣🤣. Slightly over with Xmas. I was like haan. That means I saved my vacation for almost the whole year 🤣🤣🤣.

You are right. It’s not easy at all. :(.

U know I still debate why I didn’t take other opportunity when I came here with far better pay and unlimited vacation - ofc never unlimited but I wouldn’t face these questions for sure. 🤣🤣🤣. Good news is bonus will be crazy this year 🤣🤣🤣. 🤞

Religious nahin spiritual..my parents were with us. And how can we do injsutice to krishna's janmabhoomi if we have to pass to see Taj. My senior folks are regular to shirdi every time they visit india.
