Sadly it’s gotten worse now. Esp with flights. Airlines have truly become notorious I feel. Globally.

I had delays etc both ways. Significant ones.

Etc…. I would never recommend roads there unless one had 4 weeks to burn but even then. Self driving is tiring as well.
On the other hand if you go to Banff in Canada. It will be road and is 7 contiguous national parks.
I have been to both …So I think it’s a ā€œit dependsā€ type decision.

Europe must be done on train and Canadian Rockies by road. I also love the drive from north cali to south cali on coastal route.

We don't drive in india and have to rely on driver.

of course it depends..... But if india specific, and state specific is final, driving around usually is more fun than places predecided for tourism!!!

Also what kind of trip do they want... Quite scene or adventure... Etc etc

If you mean route 1. It’s awesome.

And ofc you don’t drive there. Nor do I. Not anymore. It’s really so cheap tho. Imagine renting a car in most expensive city in India for like $25/30 per day with driver.

Airlines are greedy and so unreliable. I like AI flights due to non stop service. Thanks to Russia now that's rare.

My parents were on Air India flight last feb the day russia started war with ukraine. We didn't sleep entire night. The airspace was closed and that flight had to take longer route. It's non stop so worrying about flight running out of fuel kept us awake.

Crash is guaranteed if we drive in india. We do rent with driver but sometimes it's not same. You are at their mercy

Last I flew AI. I am telling you. It was miserable. I can’t even describe it.

Sadly no US airline flies direct now. I think United only does to Delhi. But others don’t even connect on their own metal from Europe - just partners.

And yes - Given a choice. Non stop is best. But I won’t book AI …
