Kanha forest reserve. It’s the most difficult place to get sightings. 4 zones and very different but no cell service etc and pretty thick forest. Over 9k sq kms of core zone. So it’s entirely luck.
Instead other places like tadoba etc. Pretty much gonna get sightings. Esp if you book a few over 3 days even. So it’s all about what kind of forest one likes etc.

But as you get closer to daang ahwa forest,you do find these wild beauties.sad part forest is almost gone due to commercial busineses moving in and now bullet train and highway are getting rid of these areas.
the forest I went to has leopards. Didn’t sight any. They are super shy nocturnal beasts and ofc afraid of tigers as well. So exceptionally rare to see one. But in places like you mention. They become man eaters and then all is lost due to ease of food for them with kills. Thanks to deforestation

We come from very small village in navsari distrcit close proximity to daang, tapi, valsad, surat and bardoli. Mainly farmland with sugar cane, rice paddy and mango,chickoo and banana farms. So do see them when they hide in sugarcane farms. Our neighbor was attacked while she was in farm by leopard. She survived but not baby cow she had. now i heard wild boars are ruining the corps. Farmers got lot of money to give up their farm land(in crores) for highway and bullet train tracks. So everyone is responsible for deforestation.
