It Feels wierd seeing a 'star' like Akshay portray a 'superstar' role, with SRK in Fan it felt natural but Akshay it isn't fitting at all

If nothing else, Akshay Kumar is the genuine superstar. Probably one of the final five superstars standing.

I dunno, when i think of superstar and immense fan following i think of Rajnikanth, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.

Akshay is a big star for sure, but not on their level.

Because of the comments I finally watched the trailer...it doesn't seem that they have much changed except the repeatedly expressed wish for a selfie. I somehow prefer the original title "Driving Licence" because the main point of the movie is that the Fan will be helpful to a star he admires but the star totally misinterprets the situation and does something very hurtful.

Yes, I think, Selfie can become a success also in the Hindi version because of the - imo - very good Malayalam story (like it happened with the Drishyam Hindi remakes).

I like how they changed the Akshay's hurtful dialogue to Emraan. In the Malayalam original, it was pretty disgusting. And traumatic for a young child to hear that about his father. Anyway Driving Licence was just an average successful movie. The script writer Sachi did better when he tinkered with the central core of conflict between two men- one powerful and the other seemingly powerless. He got it right when he directed it himself in Ayyappanum Koshiyum.

This is a remake? Looks good to me judging by the trailer.

Thanx, capricorn, for the quasi recommendation. Will watch Ayyappanum Koshiyum as soon as possible. I find Prithviraj a good actor. He made his outburst against the officer very believable... yes, Akshay (in the trailer-scene) is more refraining.

Prithviraj's dialogue delivery is very good. I wonder whether they'll use his tirade against the masses in the remake. "I didn't reach this position because of anybody's charity. I made it by myself. I don't owe you anything".

In today's anti-Bollywood scenario such a dialogue could lead to a boycott.

I doubt...I equally doubt that Akshay would play arrogant and entitled...(yet maybe a bit mysogynous?).

I liked in the original that both were grey characters and had to learn a lesson, but nevertheless were caring.
