Aruna really did a good job as a team captain today. Her biggest quality as a leader was she didn't get involved with the cooking, she was supervising. On the other hand Priyanka was cooking continuously till the end when she should've just been supervising. Her whole plan was weak from the get go. Choosing wrong team members, delegating dishes to wrong people, overworking, lack of communication and a lot of unnecessary over confidence. Throughout her sound byte she kept blaming everybody when the biggest person to blame was herself. How can you realize the coffee you were planning to serve hot has become a cold coffee at the end of the challenge? She should've continuously been tasting the stuff on all the counters. Also didn't Dyuti make some caramel stuff yesterday which was tasting bitter? Where was that in their menu today? Whole green team was in a mess. On top of that Shanta thought it would be genius to blow torch a pizza 😆 So glad Garima told them off immediately.

I liked that both of Deepa's elements shined bright today. I'm just waiting for her to show her magic. I feel she has a lot of potential and ideas and somehow till now it just wasn't falling in place. Aruna clearly misjudged the main course. Should've allocated atleast two people in the beginning to make the main course.

Overall more than the dishes, I really enjoyed whoever designed the challenge today. I liked that it was a very detailed challenge including the round where the captain would be chosen on the basis of a technical challenge - which was something new for MasterChef I believe. The whole concept of serving four courses along with spreading it over two episodes for a detailed coverage and the judges always explaining the parts of a proper Italian cuisine menu was very refreshing to see. Hope to see more such challenges. I'm waiting for something to happen outdoors. They are always more fun.

By the way does anyone know whether the whole show has been shot or are they shooting on the go? Because I follow many of the contestants on insta and many seem to be in their homes. Like I always see Avinash putting stories from his home in Orissa or attending some event or the other while Dyuti today was posting pics from Kolkata. I think I also saw Garima post something from Hong Kong. I think they would've all been in Mumbai if the shoot was still going on

Today proved again that green team was uncoordinated, chosen wrong, and had a wrong captain. Priyanka turned into another Swarna today - putting blame on others. Arre if you had been leading properly then you should have caught the coffee change right away! If you had been leading properly, Garima wouldn't have to keep reminding you to bring the food to the table. If you had been leading properly, you would have seen that Swarna didn't make dough for extra bombolini!

Aruna proved her leadership. Yes she got frustrated, but she didn't blame anyone. She just asked Nayanjyoti that why is there only 2 pieces, not 3. She chose her team well and divided the work well. She made a few mistakes in division of labour but her team stepped up to the plate and helped her out. This is how it should be.

The green team was feeling happy about working together, but they weren't working together. They were getting in each other's way and blaming each other. Swarna once again placed the blame on Shanta for not making extra bombolini. Priyanka put the blame on Dyuti for changing the coffee recipe. Priya put the blame on Dyuti for not making enough coffee. And so on.

The red team had to rush a bit for the last round, but they still worked well together and instead of accusing each other, they helped each other out. That is called working together.

I'm glad red team won. They totally deserved it. They had good coordination, good teamwork, and good taste (at least based on what we saw).

I think they should have an all vegetarian season every alternate season, considering a huge chunk of our population doesn’t eat meat.

Hats off to contestants who can cook such good food without tasting it. I wouldn’t be so confident

I think statistically more people are omnivores in India than pure vegetarians. I think this idea of indian are only eat vegetarian food and/or only eat chicken and fish comes from Gujaratis being dominant in the diaspora. Aruna, I believe, is a Marwadi Pandit natively. Priya is a vegan. I don't know Gurkeerat's reasons but Punjab is a very diverse culinary region otherwise.

Yes thats my opinion as well . I was actually surprised when baa at that age worked with eggs as it clearly showed she did not know how to break them . Pure veg should not come as that will put in lot of limitation in further rounds . But yes if they dont eat but can cook excellent without tasting why not . Also when veg masterchef was held I remember most of them make tilkis most of the time . Even judges did not come up with good challenges . Dont even remember viewing final round in that season .so I dont think veg masterchef will come back .

Yes and it looks like Priya made the best dish. In start of precap, she is there with black apron and then by end she is upstairs.

I guess Dyuti lost her balance after that fire incident. She must have lost a few minutes trying to compose herself which meant she wasn't able to plate her dish.

Of course going by numbers there are more omnivores, but the sheer number of vegetarians can’t be ignored. Also, many omnivores in India are vegetarian a few times every week.
Gujratis, Marwadis and many Brahmins are pure vegetarian. Then you have people who follow certain sects who practice vegetarianism. In Punjab a lot of people follow Radhasoami Beas, those are strict vegetarian as well.

Im not one who likes limiting choices, but in a country like India, many do not participate just for this one reason - they can’t try their own dishes. There are also some who won’t touch meat at all.

The problem is that the challenges weren’t interesting but world over there are vegan Michelin star restaurants as well.
I remember watching the vegetarian season, and there was a lot of variety even then.
Even now when you watch an episode, unless they have to cook with meat - many end up making vegetarian dishes or vegan dishes that are excellent.
