about armaan’s dialogue to rahul today

guys he said " wo mere liye sub kuch thi yaar".don't u think it should be "wo mere liye sub kuch hai".His dialogue meant that he doesn't have anything in his heart for her now.how can somebody be ur everything once and then nothing.
