I certainly have. I am bored with her characterization.

also as a side note, I thought the abayas for the men were kind of wrong in terms of their head gear. it wasn't tied properly. and I heard from folks who live in dubai that women wear their abayas very differently in the emirates. they don't button it all the way and instead wear it like a loose cloak (so you can see what clothes they are wearing underneath) and black on black is pretty much out. instead, it is really fashionable scarves with very bold designs and colour.

Agree, the gear for men wasn't right. It's called Kandora (abaya is for women).

Also, biggest proof that they didn't shoot in Dubai? The taxis had Dubai license plates but were right-hand drive like in India instead of left hand-drive like the UAE. 🤣

If this were on Star Plus or Zee you would have had the kind of drama you're looking for.

I actually feel glad there was no such thing because frankly, a lot of people don't resort to slapping others no matter the outrage so it was good to see this for a change.

Good afternoon girls!!!!

I enjoyed reading all the opinions😃. Somebody please explain what Viaan said is different between kahaani and Katha. I didn't quite understand🤔And is there any symbolism towards Katha in that statement?

Letha ji, we are practically twins🤗. I also felt that Katha's response was very realistic. I know a lot of us are disappointed in Katha and her composure. But hear me out girls, before throwing me out of here😃: Purely my perspective.

Let us look at Katha in isolation🤓, not relative to a confused Viaan. Let us imagine a creep in the place of Viaan, so we don't get swayed by puppy dog Viaan. As far as Katha is concerned, Viaan is that creep who bartered her services in exchange for the money. She asked for a loan and she got this nonsense deal instead🤢

She also is realistic in knowing that she won't get anything for free😒out of good will. And she had the option of saying NO and throwing the deal and the job in his face. But, she didn't have the luxury of time to do so🤢. So, she had mechanically gone through the motions and fulfilled the means for her desired end In order to survive, she buried the whole experience in her conscious and subconscious mind very deeply. Her subconscious mind occasionally gets zinged when it gets triggered by certain words and situations. The show is telling us that she has no option but to continue working in close proximity with Viaan, and she tries to avoid him like a plague. To a certain extent, she has tutored herself to remain stoic in his presence, to remain unaffected and ignore his existence👍🏼 What else can she do? She is mad and bitter, but she has to keep her mouth shut to keep her job. She won't poke him unnecessarily till he crosses the line, as in he pesters her with questions OR the proposal of 2 cr.😡

Instead, she focuses on the positives in her life, people who matter to her, her son, his recuperation, her incredible support systems. She tries to lead as normal a life as she can. I think the purpose of showing Katha as composed as she is has two reasons: 1. Katha has to survive, feed her son and take care of both of them financially and for that she has to peripherally tolerate Viaan 2. For the purpose of the show itself. Imagine, if they showed Katha freaking out, creeping out, or disgusted with herself or the act, or erupts and figuratively slaps Viaan, that will feed us( audience ) into a frenzy against character Viaan😡. I can only talk about myself, I am solely able to tolerate Viaan because of how Katha is managing her life despite what happened. If Katha is shown to be expressing anger verbally at Viaan, I would be firmly in her bandwagon, supplying her with colorful expletives😈to use against him. Obviously, that would be a problem for the makers as they try to make us like Viaan.

Did any one of us even imagine that we would sympathize with Viaan when we knew this one night proposal was coming? Then, why are we sympathizing/empathizing with Viaan? Adnaan and his acting and Viaan being tortured by his intuition that he may have sinned against Katha by assuming the worst, BUT also Katha's stoicism towards life and particularly against Viaan.

I can see why she is behaving👍🏼the way she is, I think she is being practical. She is emotionally and physically exhausted, bursting with anger, but is helpless to act on the anger😒 How pathetic is that situation? The supreme power has given us the gift of exhaustion and sleep to cope with that very unfortunate situation😭The only thing, I don't like is the extreme idealism, loyalty when she doesn't owe one and her unnecessary savior complex ( server ). The show is trying very hard to hype her up, when it is not needed. We all empathize with her and admire her for her courage as is, we don't need a sugary sweet FL

Just my thoughts...... Girls, you can totally ignore this, won't take it personally😃

I love the forum exactly for this reason, I get to read all perspectives👍🏼

Why he wants to know what was her urgent need of money? Why he needs a closure?

Why is he bothered so much with Katha and ONS?

My take Letha.

He immediately assumed that he is being taken advantage of when she asked for the loan. Why? I don't have the slightest clue. A loan by definition is not "pocket money" in most of our dictionaries🤔 His mind only has two categories of women ( men too??? ), GD and NGD. He immediately placed her in the GD box.

But, when she didn't show the outwardly signs of a GD, his intuition/conscience started torturing him with What ifs? What if she is not the GD? Then did he behave unfairly with her? Did he sin against her by taking advantage of his position, her need or necessity? This thought came to his mind as she is not following his preformed GD scripted format😲

So, he wants to know for sure. On one hand, he wants to set his mind at peace. He wants to be validated for his own actions, Yes she is the GD, so I am justified in my actions/thoughts, no harm done.🤢 On the other, he also want to be proven wrong, so his jo bhi bacha kucha trust in human grace is salvaged, and that Katha is a genuine NGD human being. This would resurrect his belief in the world and may be help him cross over from his dark thoughts to a warm and fulfilling life.

But one thing, he doesn't know yet, is should Katha prove to be a NGD, his conscience is going to kill him🤢. HE WON'T GET THE CLOSURE. I guess that is where his strength of character will shine in the future as somebody who won't shy away from redemption and repentance. At the moment, he is not thinking all the way through, he just wants to know yay or nay for gold digging. He will worry about what to do next😎

Beautiful post

True “ drama” was gone with missing “ thappad”

Viaan looks scared of Katha already see without she is being his wife

🤣🤣🤣

So when she becomes his wife , what would happen.

Felt bad bad for Viaan but he must stop asking “ why”

any ways nothing stays hidden for ever ! Every truth come out in open ...

I am loving this serial ...

Katha as Viaan earlier told like a wall , Viaan like a boy who is hurt by knocking his head against the wall

🤣Future as them “ couple “ will be roller coaster ride !!

“ thappad” will save for future use

Thank you Mili. I was actually waiting for your point of view on this. I actually relate to Katha as I also have my responsibilities and do not have the luxury to stop and cry on my plight. Life is fast-paced, hectic and we have to survive. Yes, the makers go over the top and project Katha Dabaang style. If we assess the show, they have always drawn parallels and made contrasts. Here Katha is the complete opposite of Viaan.

Katha is a proud woman. She has her ethics. She said no to Pyramid for her decision had the impact to affect others, and she could not be disloyal to her work. Viaan's offer involved only Katha, and at that moment, it was the only way to obtain the money to save Aarav. Katha did what she had to. Through Viaan's reaction, I personally feel that that night was not as much as an ordeal as we are imagining it. If we think practically, Katha was under a lot of stress. It's possible that she lost herself in the moment. Otherwise Viaan's actions and reactions don't make sense. He judged her, and made the deal. He never asked questions during that time. He expected Katha to back out but she didn't and neither did he. Why? Was he subconsciously already attracted to Katha? Is he so twisted that this was the only way for him to get close to someone he actually likes? Did Katha ever display disgust? I did not see it. Go back to her conversation with Lollypop in the office. Viaan is a strict boss but she never mentions that Viaan is a monster who took advantage of her. She knows that Viaan did the judgement of her character. She even mentioned it. Katha Ankahee is not like other shows. Not many monologues or drama. Most things are being left to our imagination and interpretation. For me, Katha is in denial. She ignores Viaan, avoids him...she does not display anger like we expect her to. Why? I personally feel that the projection is deliberate as we are walking on a thin line where it is very easy to despise Viaan's character. But they have already turned this around. We feel Viaan's pain, confusion, the desire to understand and to be understood. I myself said that I am team Viaan now. Would I be if it were not for Adnan's characterisation of Viaan and the way that Viaan is being projected now?

Coming back to Katha....from personal experience...if you go through so many obstacles in life, you reach a point where you learn to focus on the positives. You understand your priorities. Some people do not have the luxury to break down, to complain. Some people have no option but to be strong. Katha has a great support system but no one really to lean on for material support. I see many superwomen in life....women who are multitaskers, achievers...and I rarely see supermen. For once, we have a show which is showing the reality. Men are not as strong as movies or books will lead us to believe. It is hard to accept a show like Katha which goes against all other shows in terms of what is being shown.

I am loving the show. I hope that they stick to the storyline and concept. No deviation due to TRP or any other pressure please.

Thanks Mili, and I am happy that we share similar thoughts. To me, Katha is a realistic and practical woman, who knows that she has been wronged, but she has to survive for the sake of her son.

In one way, Katha and MamaR are similar, the way they just brushed away the fact that they have been wronged by respective men in their life, and living in denial. Both gets a bitter memory in between and is mentally affected, but they both behave like as if they are in a normal life. We feel that less for Katha, as she is running around with Job, Son, her personal and professional commitments. She is not taking a single moment break that our minds are also running with her. MamaR is less active and she spends most of her time at home. So we find her a bit creepy.

I am not saying both women are of same tribe. OFC not, but they both are acting similar way to their respective experience in life

I am enjoying the discussions, as much as I love the story. Thanks to all the folk

@ bold.........Woah! Shalzie, my friend😲 What are you suggesting here? Very un-sanskari assumption right there😃No self-respecting Indian serial maker will admit to this🤡 Just kidding. But are you suggesting what I think you are?

I agree completely with the rest. Agreed, Katha simply doesn't have the luxury to act out her anger. The show is telling us that she has no good job options at the moment and her savings are towards the lean side. She has a sick child who needs to recuperate. For that, she needs to be financially secure. So, yeah! She can't throw the job in his face or get hopping mad at an eccentric boss for possibility of losing that job😒 Very sad situation to be in.

Exactly, the makers are walking a fine line with character Viaan and making us do the same🤔 You are absolutely right, it is so easy to despise Viaan, had Katha been in despair. We would not hesitate to put the blame solely on Viaan as a high-handed boss with money who preyed on a helpless and impoverished Katha. It is not the entire truth but, this would have happened if we saw Katha constantly suffering from the imagery or memory of the act. The makers have skillfully deflected that👍🏼

@italics........ that is brutal on men😒. Generally, I agree that women are emotionally more resilient than men. We somehow find a way to connect with people when no connection exists or it is far fetched. But, there are some men who are exceptional supermen too. I am fortunate to have come across some of them👍🏼

Coming to today's episode, the part I liked the most is the plight of PapaG. Bada aaya ultimatum dene wala🤬, MamaG abided by his ultimatum and left👏I am fundamentally opposed to any sort of blackmailing tactics, however small they are and I am pleasantly surprised that MamaG did the needful to put PapaG in his rightful place

Katha, Aarav interactions, nothing to speak of. Dodo rubs me the wrong way as usual🤔

If he doesn't watch it, Viaan is going to lose Ehsan as a friend. He is so messed up now that he is losing sight of everything. His conscience is eating him up👍🏼

Like Letha ji, along with the show, I am enjoying the discussions thoroughly👍🏼
