It was sad that they both are educated nd made their girl strong, but couldn't stand up for her when her soon to be husband slapped her. In normal situation the rishta will be broken that very moment but damn what they are doing, shut the door on her and force her to live with this regressive family.

I understand that waqas promised to give meerab back to them but was that promise included him being spineless too nd see his daughter getting physically abused on name of promise. Waqas and Aneela could hv at least blasted murtasim for his behavior.

Today's episode was a Sush for me 😔 .

Story , direction everything disappointed , didn't deliver at all .

In the scene where Anwar saw meerab getting slapped and faint - he should have come to take care of his daughter at that instant only 😥

and i would have gained respect for Mr Anwar , had he slapped Murtasim then and there 🤷🤷🤷

But , no - it's like they kept a separate scene for it 🥴 i was like wtf ..... At least you have so much guns in your house - direct it at murtasim and warn him for god's sake ,like

" Himmat kaise hui tumhari meri beti ko haat lagane ki"

That could have been a scene with great impact , writers !!!!! Wtf with that lukewarm warning that he delivered and murtasim got away in that scene so easily , as if he had every right to slap her !!!!!🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

And more than them , I am disappointed in meerab ! Wtf girl 🤷🤷 just show him your cluthes . Like when in the last scene he came to sit with her in the garden - she should have got up and say

" Mere aas pas aane ki tum jurrat mat karna " should have got up , trying to walk away and murtasim needed to apolosise then and there . 🥴🥴🥴🥴🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🥴

Just include the word khandaan nd izzat and murtasim becomes a mad bull charging on everyone that as per his ideology is harming his family name.

But after all the negative traits, he still be worshiped as hero nd girls are going gaga over him.

As much I love both leads chemistry, I'll never want girl to end up with the guy/family who are capable of physical violence nd take it as normal to raise hand on her 👎🏼

Agreed. Apart from physical abuse, the thing that gets me the most is when the main characters are easily manipulated by others. It is very frustrating as the audience especially when they don't even attempt to investigate the matter or communicate with their partner. I hope this won't be the case with Murtasim but the signs are not encouraging.

Your mother comparison may make sense to some degree but it's far from reality. In the vast majority of anger issue cases, the guy will get physical with the girl /anyone except with his parents, especially the mother. There may be exceptions here and there, but they are the exceptions - not the norm.

So far i haven't come across anyone implying that slapping a girl should be swept under the rug. The majority of the people will condemn the act but still watch the drama because redemption stories are well liked by the public. Additionally, the ability to forgive is a trait that resonates with the audience because forgiveness is a major part of Islam and most religions. This is why such dramas are so popular, and also why may people did not like the endings of Ishqiya, KTK, etc.

I will say there is a saturation of such stories. Consequently, they lose meaning and are not as impactful. And yet, they are as popular as ever. The audience has to communicate with the channels by not watching this kind of content, and it has to start with people who feel strongly about it like in this forum.

All his actions can be justified if he is shown to be someone dealing with anger management issues. But here it's given as a character trade to make him more appealing. They don't really show it as an issue. That's where the problem lies. He isn't a guy with anger issues but an angry young man. Both are different.

Also if he really has anger management issue why hasn't he slapped haya. The girl has been in his personal space and irritating the hell out of him since ep 1. 😆

The stories that actually happens in real life don't end up with the girl falling in love with her abuser and living happily ever after.

Haters to lovers troop and couples that fight passionately attracts the audience and it's universal but the makers can show this troop without making the guy this toxic and can easily avoid physical violence. Since pak dramas cannot really show much physical intimacy hand grab, pushing and pulling to some extend can be given a blind eye.

I think a lot of people on twitter and media houses and blogs like fuchsia, SH have shown their disappointment in these kind of scenes but it definitely falls on deaf ears. The thing is majority of the mass audience don't really care about a slap. Even in real life if a husband slaps his wife even just once most people will go, it isn't a big deal. Just forgive, forget and move on. It's so normalised in our culture that majority thinks it's okay.

Knew they can't do it..😆

In something haute they said meerab is equal to murtasim so he isn't toxic etc etc ..the thing is they can easily do away with slapping and violence but they don't. They show women in the worst form , like haya but that's love so it's not punishable. Ma begun can do whatever but she is elder so everything's OK.. its the characterisation of the leads which they never get right .

It's bk to the same old forcing the leads to marry. Whatever the chemistry they're trying to sell, they will make money out of it but it's not gonna be enjoyable. The itsy bitsy push and pull is all that they added to the mix.

What do we call Balika vadhu in Urdu? Tumhare marhum baap ki khwaish.

Pakistani dramas are known for their high tolerance for male leads and high expectations for female characters. Whether it's domestic violence or getting married at gunpoint, men get away with everything. But a woman with human flaws like manipulation, lust, and greed will face the worst consequences. Does Haya need to be called a vamp when Murtasim is there?

Exactly. A girl with the slightest ouch of selfishness is portrayed to be the worst woman out there and a walking talking red flag guy is the macho male lead .

Nobody is praising murtasim here . But pl explain how everything that a woman does is human flaw while anger and ego isn't.

I don't like murtasim or meerab here let me be clear ..

Thats a valid point.

From the look of it , all marriages in paki are forced . 😐

Anyways , Murtasim doesn't want to marry meerab either ..nor will he marry her for revenge or teach her a lesson or he fell in love with her or wants her at any cost...

the problem I have with this character is , if he can't exercise his will on his family , being the haveli Malik and the decision maker for the clan , etc etc, then what's attractive about him ? He is a lallooo, in front of haya or meerab and his family also..normally the regular toxic heros are rich , arrogant, spoilt brats, used to having their way .murtasim is neither here nor there ... 😆everything in this show is contradictory. In the first scene it was shown murtasim respects women , in the following episodes he didn't show an ounce of gentlemanship with meerab ..
