How are you feeling about the decline in BW? - Page 5

Couldn't give a rat's arse. Come on , they had it coming since long. It's actually quite the opposite. Nowadays, now that I'm solely watching excellent content produced by other countries , be it Korean, Thai, Japanese or Western , it has been an eye opener how poor the quality of the content made in Bollywood are. If I want to be supporting towards desi stuff I'd much rather do it for the regional industries ,like bengali movies and also South bringing lots of good content. In fact, this year I've watched many South movies like Kantara and Ponnyin Silvan, Vikram, RRR, KGF2. Their heroes have charisma and screen presence that I don't find in any Bollywood actors. No wonder even their Masala movies like KGF are doing so well in the box office. They deliver on the entertainment quotient.

I don't relate with any of the Bollywood actresses either. All of them look the same, vapid and Non Indian.

Honestly, the only reason Bollywood did so well for so long because the mass were not exposed to better content which Lockdown made them to be. I mean just see the list of blockbusters in the last 2 decades, how many of them are actually good movies ?? Honestly I look back and feel embarrassed that I even watched some of those. Nowadays I've better yardstick to measure them with.

Bollywood needs a total revamp and reboot , but the important question is, are they up to it ??

The biggest thing is though, Bollywood is lacking actors that evoke public interest. Nobody is excited about anyone anymore. There’s hardly any good male actors around and 80 % of actresses look and act the same

Completely agree with everything you said.

Why should I care? Especially now when I have so many other avenues to choose the content from?

^^ Everything you said . The bw movies that are flopping deserved to flop even harder !! Not a single actor worth spending dimes for and all the actresses are vapid, plastic ( physically also😉 ) , can not act, have no screen presence or charm , does not look Indian , hard to connect etc etc . In short bw movies are so bad nowadays ki agar koi mujhe free mein ticket de to bhi mein na dekhu ! 🤢

A complete revamp of the industry is needed at this point which is so not going to happen !

I couldn't agree with you more. I think the egos of the big stars too need to change. They make so much money and demand so much when they do their films, and the films end up being so bad. They don't even deserve half of what they make. Sadly these directors and such will keep paying them.
