Wasn't he telling Naaz that he don't want to do anything in life except enjoy is with her. It is no surprise that Shamsher or anyone else has no expectation from this person.

@red: if Shamsher treats it like that then Nikhil will learn. Because just by saying be responsible and later helping him and giving everything. That makes no sense.

Parents (especially those who can afford it) usually give up to children's demands. But as grown up adults, it is the duty of children to understand their responsibilities. You cannot just spoon feed everything to a person. Nikhil don't seem like a person who is ready to take up any responsibilities. So it is quite understandable why Shamsher wants Advait in position of power. If Nikhil was capable enough and ready to take up responsibilities like his elder brother, Shamsher would have given him chance too.

Kapoors criminal record can not be erased. If Ekam does a proper investigation, he will figure out the truth. Also, these Kapoors have forgotten about the goon. That man is the witness who knows everything. However, the goon has no idea about Jasmine's involvement (so Jasmine's death isn't big issue).

Also, Nehmat, Ekam and Naaz have seen the goon, but only Naaz knows that Advait (probably it was Shamsher's order) gave money to the goon to kill Ekam (later however Advait changed the decision and transferred Ekam to a different area).

That is why ekam is made an officer to dig Kapoor's past and make Advait's life hell
