ultimately, every family has to make a choice that feels comfortable for them. however, it helps when doctors give realistic assessment without unnecessarily giving false hope.
like shalzie, I felt the doctor in this drama was a little pushy and seemed to suggest that it can be magically fixed with the surgery. he means well but is bit too confident. like you said, children bounce back well but there can always be complications that go wrong. there was no disclaimers and that is vital for family members to know and be aware -- helps a lot emotionally.
