I get it. Football reverence anyday is unparalleled in countries like Brazil, Argentina, and Portugal. Emotions run high and the godlike status is besotted on players and all is forgiven. My point was once you start picking at the scab, the wounds come out and it turns gnarly. Most CR7 fans are his fans for his skill on ground and what all he has given the football world. Mbappé's personal idol is CR7. Dude reveres him. So you know it's tricky. As much as you like the player for their game the personal life clash is inevitable and often thrown in your face. Happens in every sport/ even film industry. None of it diminishes their game Or what they had done off the ground.

I personally watch the match and forget what the players are getting to off ground.
