She already got okay with his talks at midnight, so what's the need to act mesmerized at morning to fool her unless he really felt it.

Him trying such cheap things is even worse than him moving on with her in terms of physical relationship for real.

Because taking advantage of a woman feelings and using that to his use is disgusting act.
