Niki, this is a solid explanation of what Shamsher is thinking right now.

He had to come up with something pretty fast and he acted on it. I like quick thinking villains. Of course the actors have to be awesome for me to enjoy a villain.

The point is shamsher's plan is to keep the enemy close for it to be easier to keep a closer watch on then and if needed in future he can blackmail ekam in regards to mallika safety or now nehmats. It's easier for shamsher to make sure his enemies dont get closer to truth if they are closer to him. By forging a relationship with ekam family that was his intention.

Shamsher probably no longer has the ability to blackmail Ekam. Because Ekam will break up with Nehmat after he sees Nehavit's photos and Nehmat's marriage to Advait will make Ekam despise Nehmat. Thus, Shamsher cannot use Nehmat to control Ekam.

True, but it also means ekam most likely will have no interest in the fatejo death case now if he despises nehmat, which would also be a win for shamsher, until or unless in future he gets to know somehow that shamsher is a killer and behind fatejo death and that most likely will bring out his concern and protectiveness for nehmat. As someone on this thread said it's odd that shamsher didn't think of this before that getting nehmat somehow married to advait would have made more sense than using mallika.

So, would Ekam drop everything now and just be a Devdas and blame/hate Nehmat because of what she did to Malika??

I do feel bad for him but if his faith in love is shaken because of some pics a third party sent with questionable morals, than I don't have much sympathy for him.
