Voting and non elimination

There have been no eliminations for the past three weeks. Does anyone know how does this work with respect to voting. So people vote and the channel decides there will be no elimination that week ? What about the money all the fans spent on voting when the channel clearly knew there will be no elimination? Is this even legal to take money when you know you are not going to provide the service in this case result of the vote ?

Also why is there no elimination for last 3 weeks ? Is it because the channel doesn't want to eliminate the person who got the least number of votes ?

TRP of this season is great.

Colors made a lot of money so they want to extend the season.

In order to extend the season they decided to not eliminate anyone.

Yes but why are they asking people to vote and waste money if they clearly know its a non elimination week. I am sure no one will vote for any contestant if they know that it's a non elimination week.

This isn't advertised as a lottery where they say vote at your own risk. Elimination may or may not happen.

Its more like will anyone pay a builder deposit if they know they will never get possession of the house?

Is it even legal to do that ?
