Part 13

Geet comes out of her thoughts

It had been more than 2 years…2 years 8 months to be exact

She was legally married to a man who never contacted her after that

She hoped Maan would at least be in touch

But there was no promise

He was not obligated to contact her. He had his own life. A life where he was surely happy.

Maybe he had someone in his life now

She didn’t know

He was in his social media, but he never posted anything all these years

Nor she had his Dubai number

She had also changed her number after coming to Hyderabad

Life was different here

She works in a small company doing Data entry

She let go off her dream of becoming a Detective

Surviving in a new City was much more crucial

Talking about survival, she loved alone in a small room in a rented place in a not-so-great part of the city

But that is all she could afford

She realized being alone and single in a city was much more difficult for a woman

So, she told everybody she was married

It started with her struggling to find a place to rent to her work

She also had pictures of their wedding in her home, as to keep up the farce

This helped her look and sound believable to her creepy Homeowner, who would come into her home for rents and with small excuses

Also, for her family

She gets off her bed as she realizes she has to call her home

She quickly prepares her area where she calls her family, with nice décor and pictures of her wedding and all

She Video calls her family

G- Hey! Kaise ho aap log

Her mom & sisters are on the call

‘Kaisi hai tu? Dubai ka Mausam kaisa hai?’

G- Main bilkul badiya hoon. Dubai mein toh garmi hai hi but sab jagah AC hai hi

‘Acha. Damad ji kaise hain?’

‘Haan, jiju kaise hain? Humne toh kabhi baat bhi nahi ki unse’

G- Woh kaam mein busy rehte hain. Waise bilkul thik hain. Unko bhi tum sab se baat karni hai but time hi match nahi hota

‘Teri photo dekhi, tum koi Dubai ke mall mein gaye the kya’

G- haan yahan itne mall hain, aise hi weekend mein chale gaye the

Geet lies and pats herself on the back for her improved photoshop skills

‘Acha. Hamesha khush raho. Mujhe toh bohot tassalli hoti hai jaan ke ki damad ji tujhe itna khush rakhte hain. Par tu shaadi ke baad india hi nahi aayi, ghar ki yaad nahi aati tujhe kya?’

G- Aungi naa, yahan kaam itna rehta hai

‘Teri behen ke liye ladka dekh rahe hain, uske liye toh tujhe aur damad ji jo aana hi padega’

G- Haan haan, bilkul Choti ki shaadi mein nahi aungi kya main. Hum dono hi aayenge

She agrees to pacify her family

G- Chalo. Late ho raha hai ab main rakhti hoon

She hangs the phone

She is looking around their wedding picture

Maybe this is the reason she is not able to forget him

These pictures remind him of Maan everyday

She is not able to forget the time they spend, the conversations they had and the void he left in her

She had started liking him, may be more than liking him

She was even hopeful that they will be in contact

The daily reminder of him would not allow her to forget him

The fate was creatively cruel to her

She sighs as she resigns to her fate

She reaches her office

It’s a usual day of work

Some office work, some office talks, some conversation with her office people

It is a really small firm so everybody would have lunch together

Geet would be usually silent as she did not much to talk about her life

People would share and talk about their family & lives

‘Geet, tumne weekend pe kya kiya?’

A colleague asks her, seeing her silent

The colleagues were nice and wanted her to feel included

G- emm…kuch nahi

‘Tumhare husband toh kisi aur sheher mein rehte hai naa?’

Her boss asks

G- Haan

‘Kis profession mein hain tumhare husband?’

G-emm…wo…wo…forest officer hain

She randomly says

‘Arre wahhh, how exciting!’

Everybody squeals

Geet gives a formal grin

‘Kahan pe’

G- emm..woh…Bandipur National forest

She says the farthest place she could think of

I really don't know what was brewing inside Maan except frustration & anger ... He must be really pissed off with the attitude of Geet parents

Finally to save their skin they got married & now things are going to be extremely tough specifically for Geet & she could read that Maan won't be in touch either

Awesome & interesting part 

Geet life is really difficult now she is earning & managing everything her family & her work too  ... I don't blame her for lies as she cannot say the real truth to anyone 

I really missed Maan here & might be like her he too is in delema that what to do with this unnamed relationship with Geet but still it was unforgettable for both as we can see 

Geet ke halat to pata chal gayi I want to see maans reaction & his life too ☺
