they bring ankit because in their minds he won’t argue and isn’t a threat not because they think he’s sorted. Sure you will get the sensible/sorted tag which is good when you leave for the game however if you are not polarizing people, what’s the point?
Why would he want Shiv/Nimmo who are directly out to get him and Priyanka as captain instead of Sajid who clearly favors him at times?

Had they gotten direct nomination powers he was the one getting nominated.

Favours him at times sure, but in this task he let him go as a contender - people turn their backs on who save them all the time for content na. This game is about content only.
It’s not like Sajid stands up for Ankit when Shiv is constantly belittling him. Sajid also questioned them on their logic of supporting Archana - the game is about speaking up only.
Priyanka also said she has no problem with sajid being captain but why didn’t they bring her in when the time came? Because they couldn’t be sure she wouldn’t start arguing against him.
It’s all about perception - if people think you’re some dheela contestant who just goes with the flow, it’s not looking good for you. If he flipped like Archana would have probably it would have been interesting IMO. It would show he is pissed he is removed from captaincy and he really wanted to be captain instead he came out and said we will fight someday to be captain - who knows if you will last that long.
