Here, she was talking about how girls no matter what are prepped from a very young age to be good enough for someone else. It's like they are being prepared to make a C.V for marriage. You should be looking pretty, you have to have that degree.

I remember reading back in when she debuted how she used to get called by names because of her weight. No matter whose daughter you are body shakers don't give AF. If they can't say it in front of you, they'll say it behind your back, in all sort of sneaky way which is enough to hurt.

People should really respond as per the what another person says. Jumping someone over their status, hpw they are caoable of this or that, it seems like a norm these days.

That means she got judged by others in teenage n grew up to judge others for their fashion sense, outfits n started calling other women aunty just because she worked with her father.

In such high society relatives bitch on who is dating who in teenage n no one cares about marriage so early 🤣They know they will get beautiful through makeup n surgeries.

Yeah. Let's hate on Sonam coz it's cool to do soo

What she spoke of in the video is a real problem in Asian countries and just being rich won't save you from the comments of narrow-minded people.

I have a 17 yr old cousin who is dark skinned and chubby. My uncle (her father), is probably the richest person in our extended family. She has literally grown up with her own family and elderly relatives constantly expressing disgust towards dark skin. They won't shame her directly, but they don't hesitate to pass comments on other girls in front of her by saying how them being dusky would be a deterrent to any prospective groom's family.

It would be ridiculous to think that these comments wouldn't affect a young girl, doesn't matter how spoilt she is.

You had no business quoting me to say the same thing you discussed with others.

Learn to take different pov. You don't know someone else's lives, poor or rich, however way they live, you don't know. Like I said, there was nothing wrong or Mock worthy in that video. If you wanna hate, go on but do so w/o engaginging with others who has a different perspective.

Surgeries are a trend these days which wasn't so out in open or not everyone thought of doing so however rich or poor they were 10 to 20 years back. So no! Possible that she had no idea she could look beautiful with the help of those procedure, or wanted to get it done at all, considering that she hasn't done anything of that sort.

Criticising someone what they said wrong is okay but bashing to the point of making it look like they are personally harming anyone, isn't something cool. Thank you.

Not only India, everywhere in the world.

My American neighbor told me — she wasn’t skinny enough and so grew up with body issues. Chubbyness wasn’t normal back then.

My another American neighbor told me her MIL asked her — when are you having 3rd kid. MILs are same regardless of culture.

We Indians love to pull down ourselves. Indian ladies are the not the only one who cares about moti hai.. nati hai.. gori hai kali hai.. Bachha chahiye. Everyone in the world does!
Each and every black colleague I worked with was happy to know gender of my 2nd child was boy during my pregnancy. I was surprised to know that they too cared if it was a boy or a girl.
These issues are universal.

Yes, roti gol banani chahiye is Specifically Indian thing. I agree!!

Body issues were a huge part of everyone growing up in 90s and 2000s.

Body positivity started recently.

U too learn to take different POV n stop acting like u r so gyaani.. faltu ka gyaan actually...

U r acting like u know everything about everyone n is so intellectual. U replied in my topic so if i quote u, nothing wrong in it. If u can't take back u should not reply.

Its my choice I can criticise or bash her or anyone i want. Who r u tell me what to do...

U can defend ur favourite but pls don't give that moral science lecture. It sounds ridiculous actually.

U didn't find Video mock worthy but I did n many others too did.

1. I replied to your topic but commented on the video, wasn't talking to you. It's a free forum, we can reply but don't need to unnecessarily engage with someone because they aren't agreeing with you just because it's your topic.

2. Faltu ka gyaan? - & why would I think so? Just because you said so? & why is that?

& moral science lecture? If the shoes fit, wear it. Take it as you want.

3. To defend someone you don't have to be their fans. If reading, listening is a thing, comprehension is also a thing & w/o it no amount of listening or reading would help. Try that sometime.

I don't know why people are so judgemental to others who have done plastic surgery for this reason. Bollywood is a looks-focused society, and now every star has to do some sort of change to 'fix' their looks.

Radhika Madan had to change her face, Tripti did too. I completely understand mocking nepo kids if they cannot act nor have shown incentive to improve, but I don't like mocking them for procedures or skin lightning, because of how society views actresses.

Any woman in the entertainment world has to go through a world of scrutiny looks-wise a man does not.

Listening to her painful story makes me cry😭She went through so much in her teenage like body hair, acne, dusky skin..So much struggle these ppl face n we make their fun😭

I can't believe relatives torture sonam kapoor daughter on who will marry her...🤣Pure bullshit🤣She is Anil Kapoor's daughter is enough for her CV... Everyone knew she will either come in Bollywood n marry in rich household..

And in our teenage all we n parents cared was get good marks in 10th and 12th..

Your parents probably cared for good marks only, but any parent aiming for entertainment business will focus on looks only. Like even outsiders like Madhu Chopra invested a lot of time and care in their daughter's looks to make it. I don't care for Sonam, but I think it's disgusting that her own father sent her a fat-free cake for her birthday and told her to lose weight.
