What is wrong if Kashmir Files is shown eh?

Plenty of films like Haider show oppression of Kashmir Muslims. KP issue was never shown at all. Why TKF hurts anyone?

Anyday better than crap where adults act like overgrown manchild or child woman staring at skies hoping to get laid or same girl ignored earlier but becoming desirable if she wore saree or lame shit of two people fighting over same person in name of love or 4 hours killed to do drama to convince parents. Or 3 hour marriage videos passed off as movies or 3 hour Switzerland sight seeing passed off as films. And all songs about same old choodi, dil, chunari, bindi and chimp faced men with zero height passed off as superstars or perfection.

I feel ashamed when I look back at crap we were dished out earlier. Regressive, sexist, superficial garbage and nothing in story. 3 hours passed in shaadi, mehendi, godh bharai videos and characters having no aim in life, doing nothing at home or college or work except looking for so called love and desperate to get laid and even kids and pets dragged to fix love life of overgrown manchild or child woman.

Brahmastra or BB2 are hit as the former cashed on RK and Alia marriage hype. BB 2 is atleast some suspense and not a marriage video with same old bullshit of overgrown manchild crying with flared nostrils.

Anyday I appreciate variety of content post 2006 compared to pure stinking pile of escapist shit in 90s and early 2000s.

This is the weakest era of Indian cinema and is kept relevant only by nostalgic online posts of people from that generation. 80s was also crap but they atleast had good parallel wave cinema. 90s was not even that except for some saving grace in form of Bombay or Godmother or maybe Fire and Earth. Only some gangster flicks of that era can stand test of time in story telling like Satya. Otherwise 90s is a crap decade. Most of 90s flicks look like 3 hour versions of Ekta Kapoor and Gul Khan soaps.

This made me laugh!

But honestly, there's no need to dissect so much. Those films may have had flaws but they had their heart in the right place.

On the other hand, Vivek Agnihotri seems to me like an opportunist and his intentions are revealed through his interviews. He no way wanted to show the plight, he wanted to construct a narrative which is polarized and anti-secular.

On the other hand, if you had to compare a love story like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Kabir SIngh: which would you say is more sexist? Kabir SIngh, right? Overtly misogynist and sexist. On the other hand, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai might have had a few elements which were sexist but otherwise, was a film with its heart in the right place.

Why ask to not dissect so much? Those films were crap. And it seemed shameful to show a poor 8 YO dumped with mom's guilt of coming between dad and his classmate and asking her to fix dad's love life or assuming that ex classmate will remain unmarried until the 8 YO reads mom's letter. It is cheap to show kids trying to be match makers.

Amused why someone like Aman will be dumped for a superficial selfish guy like Rahul who had his cake and ate it too. Mazey hi mazey hain bas.

Or Kajol and SRK shamelessly making out in rain despite knowing she is engaged to someone else. And that sanskari Rahul eyeing Anjali despite knowing she is engaged and he too is dad of a kid. Was that summer camp there for kids or to make parents hook up with camp teachers?

What values of sacrifice or love? It is pure assholery and mental infidelity. Or making glum faces at wedding of someone else to emotionally blackmail them to break their wedding and hook up with widower who now finds heroine his true love as she now wears saree and grew hair long.

Aise toh people fan defend Kabir Singh too saying it has heart in right place or man may be abusive but he loved her or heroine also had his kid out of wedlock and broke her wedding for his sake. Or as filmmaker defended his film saying one can hit one he loves or fighting is also sign of passion.

Vivek did what he did. One can bash Vishal Bhardwaj too for showing only oppression of KMs and keeping mum on KPs. Whole section did bash him for defaming army.

Tomorrow if someone makes a film on Nov 1984 pogroms, one section can easily do whataboutery and ask what about militancy in Punjab. Film is always based on a perspective. It is not a textbook which is supposed to cover all sides.

TKF had to get traction as no one covered KP issues earlier in 3 decades in any show or book or website. Why no one questioned silence on minorities of J&K then? There is no need to whitewash atrocities in name of unity or secularism or nationalism. I support all narratives be it Haider or TKF. One can ignore what they do not want to see. These are not commercial entertainment anyway.

Every older generation thinks new ones have weaknesses or are a problem. Most of them are simply jealous of opportunities and facilities new gen has that they do not have and also project resentment of own ageing on younger people.

Nothing wrong if new gen is vocal on what they hate or dislike or find problematic. Better to have guts to call out shit as it is rather than bearing it quietly. I do not think they complain.

I am not talking of people on IF. On forums people use screen IDs anyway. I am talking of SM where others often fear putting out own name too. Forget expressing self confidently and owning themselves, their views and bodies like a boss.
