Tamanna is truly a classic, underrated masterpiece from the 90s. It is also one of the best 'social' films from BW ever.
Kudos to Paresh Rawal and the whole team for portraying Tiku like a human being.
The hijra community is mistreated, mis-represented and mis-understrood. They deserve all Human rights as much as others.
Tamanna was progressive and thought-provoking film like came out in unlike that joke of a film like Laxmi Bomb in 2020.
Tamanna was exceptional.
I am glad Mahesh Bhatt gave 2 exceptional master pieces to her daughter for her career as her swan songs Tamanna 1997 and Zakhm 1998 before she bid adieu from the Bollywood.
I can not understand why people ignore Pooja for Tamanna and especially for Zakhm ...she was brilliant and had meatiest lead role in both.
She was at par with Ajay in Zakhm, and had even more screen time and also performed equally brilliant if not more than Ajay yet he got National Award and she was royally ignored to get anything as always :(
Tamanna and Zakhm were shown in Pakistan Karachi in KAra film festival held in 2002, both Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt attended that festival and stayed in Pakistan for one week.

Gupt, quite easily. Even if it was such a plagiarized film. 😆 Super cool flick and one of few movies, where I wouldn't mind a remake.
Top-5 would be Gupt, Border, Tammnna, Virasat, Judaai.

which movie Gupt was inspired from?
ps: I guess the unnecessary comedy scenes were a big sore thumb in Gupt, totally irritating.
Just like Laxmi kant Berde's fuzool annoying & unnecessary comic scenes were a total downer and road bummer in 100 days (and also in Saajan) that zabardasti ka comedy thonsna was the only thing I disliked about 90s movies.

Border hands down. Greatest war film and has perfect mix of everything from action, drama, family values, patriotism, romance etc.
Great music and songs. Emotional scenes.
Second would be Pardes. Third would be Gupt.
DTPH and Ishq are crap. The former is worst nonsense with overage actors acting like teens and bullshit regressive dialogues and people having no aim in life except looking at skies and hoping to send vibes to so called loved one.
I like the respectful bond and quiet understated bonding between SRK and Mahima in Pardes compared to bullshit in DTPH.

Lol, the description of DTPH just cracked me up 🤣
If you liked Border, I would v strongly suggest you a legit classic masterpiece from Pakistan "Alpha Bravo Charlie" ...well not exactly a war drama, but based on army (and dont worry no pak-India angle at all).. more about human emotions.... I can guarantee this will be one of the very finest rare things you have watched so far, trust my taste :) easy urdu to understand and also comes with English subtitles as well.
No seriously. I wanna slap its leads for acting so stupid and immature as if they have no aim in life and no focus on work either and staring in thin air in fantasies like hormonal teens who hit puberty for first time.
Or looking at each other or random men like hormonal teens despite being visibly overaged 35 YOs.

Kaheen na kaheen , koi toh hai ..woh aik ishaara dey gaa
woh whistle ...aik ishaara
woh chaabiyon ka ghumaana...aik aur ishaara 🤪
u can slap srk and lolo as much as u want (especially srk), but plz meri Madhu ko kuch na kehna
😆
Madhuri is the worst part of that film IMO and overaged for that hormonal type aimless bimbo role.
Sorry. It is her most irritating role ever. Even all that cleavage show could not help her. Thakela film and thakela performance. Thakela character.
I know you like MD but it is easily her most irritating character till date. She looked older for that role (which was a crap role anyway). She has some of most regressive dialogues in film about Hindustani ladkiyan.

The plot was inspired from a novel (Good Children Don't Kill) and the entire jail/jail-break sequence was lifted from Escape from Alcatraz. The music as well was sampled from so many classic songs.
It doesn't bother me though. Gupt proved how you could make a stellar movie even if you take inspiration from various other sources.
I’m pretty sure they hooking up even now, but they don’t show it to the world...
I am not really crazy about her, but I give credit where it is due. This song was meant for Miss Rai, but Deepika looked graceful and carried it...
Who do you like the most?
I just love these two!!! so melodious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzI9M74IfR0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSCqmnCayg8
