Dilip kumar cheated her n married someone else for a brief period still she considers herself lucky to be married to Dilip Kumar. He left his second wife because she was involved with someone else and came back to Saira bano.

Women back in those days were just too much into having affair with married men n tolerating affairs of husband..

Well, atleast he left the second wife and it was not like Dharam-Hema situation

Unlike now, I think men got married early then and by the time they were successful they had a wife and a couple of children at least

But when you're paired opposite someone in many movies and working together day in and day out ( doing romantic scenes), looking your best, the women is at her peek too, so it happens

( Not justifying it though)

May be because that women already had three children from first marriage so he and his family just wanted a child out of her.

Saira bano had suffered miscarriage..no idea about leukemia. I don't believe she had leukemia because medical treatment was not at par in those days n she would not have gotten saved.

I also remember my uncle telling me that her whole blood had to be replaced once every month or few months (i don't remember correctly).
