First of all, if this the Ghum team's bid to get to number 1, it fell flat. they must be damn frustrated, 1 point behind each week, yet not there yet.
I don't watch the number 1 show, but if I watch clips floating around, i feel like watching the episode. More than other shows, the dialogues are fabulous. They are written well and appropriately placed. Best thing is the characters react to the dialogues.
I watched the episode for two reasons:
- To watch JM tell the Chawans some home truths. he called Pakhi Sai's sautan, which is absolutely true. She was and will always remain Sai's sautan who has won the battle and snatched her husband. Successful sautan. Only Ashwini reacted with some amount of guilt because she knows it is true. Though she keeps telling Pakhi, tumhari sautan, in her heart of hearts, she knows Pakhi is the sautan.
- When I say reaction to the dialogues, this is what I mean. JM said so many things about two wives, sautan, how come Sonali, Karishma, Shivani did not react. What Virat is doing is bigamy, which is against the law, how is everyone so righteous even when confronted? This is bad direction or or arrogance? Even Virat looked confused when he spoke of first wife?? Or was it just bad acting?
( On that note, the surrogacy they showed was definitely illegal, it is all over the papers these days, hard to miss, yet Pakhi got away with two hours in jail? And is getting so much respect from the husband whose wife she wronged? )
- Finally, the Sairat scene. Though she slapped him, it was very mild😆, touched his chin I think. Dialogues were not great, as always, Ghum is known for very simplistic dialogues, and they keep up to their reputation. Plus, Virat's reactions?? Neil was very disappointing. There was nothing in his eyes, I am not talking about love, there was no connect with what she was saying. His eyes were blank!! What is happening with him? These are such important scenes.
It is not easy to reach where the number 1 show is. Every actor there is serious about giving his or her best to the scenes, and that comes across on screen. personal dynamics jaaye bhaad mein, noone in the audience cares. All we want is entertainment, entertainment, entertainment, which Ghum falls short of on most days.
lastly, the rights that Virat shows on Sai, specifically her body is not love, it is not even possessiveness now. It is sheer abuse, apart from the verbal abuse she gets from him and his family on a regular basis.
Virat is a negative character. period. if he can co-habit with a woman who harmed his wife, that itself makes him negative. The first week of the leap, he was perfect his reactions with Pakhi were good. Now it is just unbearable. Added to the fact that their non existent chemistry makes it painful to watch.
The show should be shifted to a late night slot. This is not prime time viewing.
