That's exactly the point that bugs me too.
For some reason, Vidhi is convinced that Dev is doing this because he loves her. She's of the opinion that silence without outright rejection (Dev was silent when she said aap jante hain mere dil me kya hai) indicates an element of yes.
But he would've probably done it for any employee- maybe not the stay over at their house part, but certainly the send-Arjun-for-background-check part.
@bold- Very true!! Idk what gave her this idea that he did all this because he has feelings for her. Because he clearly proved it that the guy was already married and was cheating her family. And As you said, knowing Dev (which Vidhi claims to) she should know that he would have done it for anyone. Even in the beginning of the show, he couldn't see Vidhi being insulted by the grooms family and offered her a job when she was a complete stranger.
While he may have feelings, he would never have broken her engagement if the guy was genuinely good. Vidhi is taking it in a completely wrong way. Even in the precap she made it sound that way. Thats what got him irked. Jab Kanika ko suspend kia tabhi bhi she thought he did it because he loves her. Again that was also something he would have done for any employee.
Maybe its her age and immaturity combined doing this. She is thinking like a teenager. But she really needs to snap out of it. Actually the dialogue "itne kareeb kyun aaye" was also not quite right. Dev never gave any wrong signal to her. He may have cared for her going out of his way but never something that would suggest her that he would want a relationship with her.
@pink- agreed!! I really don't want her to become like Amba to Dev who always took his silence as a signal of his feelings
