Why doesn’t Bollywood remake its own 90s movies?

Instead of south movies which have millions of views on them, they should remake there from the 90s cuz I always see ppl in the comment section saying 90s movies were so great and in touch with Indian culture. Imagine a Karan arjun remake

Ironically Tezaab has been remade in Tamil in the 90s as Rojavai Killathe with some changes. Arjun and Khushboo reprised the Anil-Madhuri roles.They didn't use the college romance angle and they meet for the first time at the Ek Do Teen concert where he goes to assassinate her. Suresh Oberoi character doesn't exist and the hero has a different sad story for how he became a gunda. Instead of an evil father there's an evil uncle. And so on. Arjun is as good as Anil in the heartless gangster role. But Khushboo has none of Madhuri's oomph.

Better question: Why doesn't Bollywood invest in good story writers and come up with original stories🙃

90s actors are still around, some of them are still playing heroes 😆. Some of these movies or characters are too iconic and again, with their heroes still being active it becomes extremely difficult for anyone to step into their shoes. As for Karan Arjun specifically, a movie on reincarnation is too risky these days.

If Bollywood must make remakes it should probably try 80s or 70s. I think a remake of Seeta Aur Geeta would be interesting if made well. With the good script writer Anand can become a good remake. Abhimaan can definitely work even in today’s times. A remake of Silsila would be interesting, but absolutely under no circumstances should Ranbir and Deepika be cast as AB and Rekha 😆

If Bollywood must make remakes then it should be 70s and early 80s.

humpty sharma ki dulhania can be considered as the remake of DDLJ.
