I was absolutely out of loop post Samrat's death.
But unlike the regular hiccups in Ghum's storytelling, the current track is a pattern that connects previous tracks.
If I look back, this track was laid right from the remarriage and cowrie scene.
I loved many scenes, connected many, and hated tonnes of them đ
During the remarriage track, I had said that separation is bound to happen, this way or that way. Separation is inevitable.
Interestingly enough, few scenes caught my eye and I stressed on them. Their essence seem to stay even today.
If I say today that only Pakhi is able to see Sairat's truth then this won't be a post leap development or a last minute addition. This was in picture right from Sairat's confession.
When Virat plays the drum and Sai dances around, Pakhi had the rudest awakening of her life. I legit felt bad for her.
But she also had been the one who could spot the little things about them (thanks to her spying đ).
There was a time when she'd know more about them than others but she told herself a story that her love and attachment were reciprocated.
But the drum scene re-enacted with Sai was a full circle. It is almost like waking up Kumbhkarn from his sleep by banging drums. And it worked. Samrat was the only one who noticed.
Again the antarpat scene during remarriage, Samrat holds the cloth - clear sign that Sairat would now be inaccessible to Pakhi or even P won't build castles in the air, thanks to the confession and Samrat's unwavering support.
P & Samrat even started taking baby steps in their relationship - friendship first.
Jagtap's re-entry and Samrat's death changed everything! That was a blow.
Did Sai really die in the bus accident?
Or did she die on Samrat's tervi?
Sai removed the garland from Samrat's photo and wore it.
That was the day when Sai Virat Chauhan officially died.
Cut to present -
Sai - Aapko pata bhi hai aap kya keh rahe hai? Zinda hone ke bawajood matlab? Aapki yaadash kamzor ho gayi hai ya mere ghar se nikalte hi mujhe mara hua maan liya tha?
V is his usual defensive self and Sai lectures him on favouring P etc etc etc.
Back to remarriage track now
BK has a condition.
Sai has to choose.
V holds her hand. Then V also removes his hand from hers.
V had a quick and back door approach to deal with BK. Lie and get your task done. Doesn't sit well with Sai.
On Shivani's question, V removes his hand - clear that a choice has to be made and it can be only one. But V wants to keep both. Was it possible? No. For Sai the choice was clear - it can be only one of the two so why not tell the truth?
BK wanted Sai to leave her dream and be a housewife. V feared that Sai would leave him because she had done that before. If the decision was with Sai only, had she chosen to be a wife or be a doctor?
She kept both.
Cut to present
Sai drops Harini home. V lectures her. She retorts with all the facts in place!
Sai - Jaha tak mujhe yaad hai aap mere peeche aaye the ki main vo job kar loon kyunki main vo job karna hi nahi chahti thi. Aapke parivaar ka bhaav dekh ke samajh gayi thi ki unhe mera yeh job karna pasand nahi aayega.
Bang On CVs!
This is the same Sai who once fought against CNwasis to go to college.
(Remarkable scene! NB is too good here! Specially the last few lines. Unable to comprehend how a person can change so much. He for sure wanted her to retaliate. She did but in an unexpected way!)
I see this as the continuation of BK's demand during remarriage. V taking a stand, assuring Sai by holding her hand. But when Shivani questions, he removes his hand from Sai's grip.
The time has come when he has to hold Dr. Sai Joshi's hand, but circumstances are different.
One thing is extremely clear from the remarriage and present track - Sai will always be any one of the two for BK - daughter-in-law or doctor.
And she'll fall flat on her face.
@xfiles - this is my interpretation of hand removing scene from a story and screenplay perspective. Cmn to V's characterisation, CVs have ruined him beyond my imagination.
Samrat's Death
I hated this. But khair Yogi wanted to exit (and justifiably so đ, end tak kuch diya nahi usko - the most sensible character ruined)
Samrat and Sai scenes were beautiful!
Only if they had used this as a premise for surrogacy track.
Pakhi & Samrat were growing closer ( at least that was projected). Pakhi is distressed on Samrat's death. In her grief she curses Sai. Understood, accepted, acknowledged.
Switching to Sai and Samrat's scenes -
Samrat is already attached to Sai's unborn child which she later lost. He has his own dreams of being kaka/mama and how he would have taken care of the child, etc etc etc.
Surrogacy -
But why on earth CVs made it a triangle from surrogacy? They have zero clue how much they have destroyed V, Samrat, and Pakhi in that one reason.
An alternate scenario :
Pakhi could have used other reasons for being a surrogate mother -
Lost Samrat because of Sai.
Wanted revenge.
Did whatever she had to.
Succeeded.
Sai gets to know the truth.
P threatens her that she'll take the child with her.
Back and forth blackmail happens post child's birth.
Scared, Sai tells the truth to V. He doesn't believe her. But somehow the truth is revealed to him and he tries to stop P. But there's no great proof to her wrongdoings.
Unsuccessful, they tell this to the family.
BK refuses to believe. Pakhi is great in her eyes.
In greed of a heir, the family doesn't listen to V and Sai.
Sai takes a drastic step. Decides to leave with Vinu. V disagrees and the couple fights. In a fit of rage V asks her to do whatever she wants.
And separation!
There are loopholes in the suggested way but the reason that P wanted to settle her score of Samrat's death with Sai would have been much better instead of giving her womb to V's child. CVs have no clue how cringe this sounds!
Kudos to us that we are still hanging around alive.
This way, Pakhi had a great way to redeem herself.
As mentioned before, separation was inevitable! But this had to be an external one.
In this scenario, V could have been legit angry with Sai for leaving him and angry with himself for letting her go. His dilemma would have gained him audience's sympathy which clearly is not happening with whatever is being shoved on us.
Even in the present with the above what-if scenario, Pakhi could also have fulfilled Samrat's wish - indirectly she representing Samrat - this would have lessened her grief of losing Samrat and played a bigger role in her redemption.
In ways she is doing it - by looking after Vinu who as per spoilers will be revealed as the same Vinu.
But the reason she had kills the entire vibe.
This would have been a such a great track! Khair.
Cowrie and the ring
The first cowrie breaks
Second one falls in Pakhi's lap which she returns to Sai.
Underlining - Jo jiska hai usi ka hai.
If it rightfully belongs to Sai, Pakhi has to give it to her.
Same with the ring
Pakhi bought the ring and gave it back to Sai.
She definitely knows more about Sai and V than others and also themselves.
What turns out in the future, only time will tell.
But do I see her as the villain playing games now? I don't and I don't want to.
Jagtap and Pakhi
I have mentioned this in various other posts, this track is purely Jagtap and Pakhi. It is their redemption.
Jagtap has changed for the good. And I'm loving his character. The arc is incredible.
In many ways this began with them and it has to end with them.
Jagtap killing Samrat.
Pakhi duping everyone to be a surrogate mother.
A lot is lost in these years. Do they realize?
Jagtap - it is visible
Pakhi - Aware but not out completely. The biggest blow was her truth was out and V had sunaofied her. While it went on a different tangent but I feel that entire rant had some effect on her.
If one looks at the present, Pakhi understands this very well - whatever she does, she'll never have the same place as Sai in V's life.
Initially she discarded the idea as Sai wasn't aware of her own feelings.
The confession, drum and remarriage was enough to break her dream.
What's hilarious is CVs still clinging to the triangle. Idiots!
Virat and Pakhi
Married, done and dusted.
Won't go into the legalities, majbooris, and dostis. A lot has been discussed about this.
The only great thing is CVs have changed the pattern of the triangle! They have flipped it just like P & V đ( but I'm liking it)
A scene that stood out for me -
Post ring buying, giving it back and then sai giving it double back and V giving it triple back đ
P-V night conversation was good!
V : Patralekha tum itne saal mere saath chattan ki tarah khadi ho!
CVs, you deserve đ
Never expected them to go draw these lines, but wonderful!
Chattan = mountain
And if you really go back to around episode numbers 70-75 you'll get the reason for this excitement.
I had written about the river philosophy.
Both Sai and V have their own reasons of affinity to river.
Sai - Baba kehte the, nadi behti rehti hai, kabhi ek jaisi nahi rehti. Isiliye humein har pal jee bhar ke jee lena chahiye.
V - Nadi toh mujhe bhi pasand hai. Pata hai nadi ki khaas baat kya hai? Vo kabhi rukti nahi hai. Koshish karti rehti hai. Pattharon ko bhi tod deti hai.
(Forgive me. Haven't written the exact words but the gist)
Back then, they had these philosophies and it was flipped meaning -
Sai followed V's philosophy - keep putting efforts
V followed Sai's philosophy - be in the present and dont look back.
The present -
Sai is living in the moment. V has to put efforts.
The only person who can break the mountain is V. Sai tried last time, had to leave CN and lose her child.
It is only V who has to keep putting efforts to make his way to Sai.
Unfortunately, that path will be through P. Either she will get out of the equation or she will encourage him to move on.
BK
I want BK to be the real villain!
Kishori will do wonders. And she has that presence.
The only person who can stand to BK and give left right centre is Sai.
V mentions about a phone call in Kankavli. Blaming Sai why didn't she call when she was alive.
I decipher her expressions in two ways -
1. I left the house bcoz of you. You are police couldn't find me. And you want me to call?
2. I had called, but you never showed up.
Sai BK's first encounter post-leap is also mysterious. That stare!
If the call happened anytime during delivery or pregnancy, I want BK to have received it and done the kachra.
Once she knows that Vinu is not there, she totally discards Sai and doesn't want to pursue or inform anyone.
Even if the call happened, she disconnected before knowing the complete truth of pregnancy or delivery.
Irony -
This lady didn't want her DIL to work, now she's unable to leave her chair!
*whoot* *whoot*
Why do I see this as Virat's journey & not Sai's?
@Sway
I had mentioned this long back in one of my posts after the promo had come out - remarriage track.
This in entirety right from remarriage is V's journey.
Some technical reasons -
1. A story starts when a character leaves a place or arrives at a place.
2. Sai's character has seen the entire journey - GC, father's death, marriage, Nagpur, in-laws, Studies. She has grown as a character from beginning of the show by getting out of her comfort zone.
3. While V too has seen changes, got out of his comfort zone at times, had different experiences but being the male lead it's underwhelming. It is tough to spot his arc.
4. Till remarriage it was Sai's realisation. Over time she has understood life in many ways, realised many truths, put efforts and also stopped putting efforts. Now that she is a mother, despite the circumstances, her character is more balanced than before, she is not impulsive.
5. V is on his path of some harsh realisations. It started right from remarriage. He was in a bubble that family would accept Sai and her dreams.
But shock no. 1 - BK's condition
Shock no. 2 - Sai's disagreement with him
Shock no. 3 - Jagtap's return/Samrat's death
Shock no. 4 - Pakhi's true colours
Shock no. 5 - Sai's departure, accident & death
And it continues.
The latest one is the shock that Sai gives no two hoots about him or his family. Mind well this is the same Sai who endured everything to pacify him after Shruthi kaand.
So it's tough to digest. But the boy has to if he has to grow.
Though he's good with the kids, I still don't see the thehrav in him as a father. Sai has it. Even P has it partially.
But what I like is he calls P as Patralekha and she isn't objecting đ . Would say some improvement and realisation there.
Shiv Parvati is back
Ghum has ssly maintained this consistency of Shiv Parvati over time. Liked it.
The happy family is a good addition
Papa pays for everything
Be it happy family
Or selling the ring.
V indirectly has become the provider of Sai and Savi.
I liked the ring selling scene for this. It is V's responsibility of providing for his family. Indirectly hi sahi.
Waise a question - Whose damn house is that? The one Sai has taken on rent. The broker seemed fishy.
Why do I feel the owner is Jagtap?
Or by any chance is it V?
Some other things -
What Sai fears for Savi in CN will actually happen with Vinu.
I see Vinu being the reason of Sai coming back in the loop. Will she reconcile? Don't know. But they'll surely work together as parents.
Sai was university topper in medical studies. That too in a city. Why are the CVs hellbent on making her kangaal? She can get a good job that pays well. Social service she can do side by side.
Social seva matlab yeh toh nahi na sab ke masle suljhaao aur apne ghar pe "than than gopal"?
I won't mind if she has to depend on V for a father's emotional support for her children. But monetary I'd like her to be good on her own.
Times have changed. CVs should really get this point clear. No point in making her kangaal.
Why is V being so erratic?
I have some reason to this. Many might won't like. But this is something I understood.
After losing Vinu, Sai had Savi who is her blood and somehow that gave her the needed composure.
V has adopted Vinu but in many ways his wound is fresh as he never really got close to his own blood - his own child. Savi's proximity and her truth will change V hopefully.
V still hasn't seen Savi with Jagtap. Sai allows Savi to go alone with Jagtap but she was skeptical while sending her to CN. The difference is clear. Knowing Jagtap's history, V's blood will boil more. Sai doesn't mind Savi interacting with Jagtap but has problems of her interacting with his family. If this happens post paternity revelation it will be another shock!
Ending this here. Pakka batana kaisa laga đ
