Christians never complained about how they and their community are portrayed in Indian films.Christian women most of the time shown wearing short dresses with a low cut necklines and shown as gangsters' molls are women who are "available". While men are often portrayed as alcohol guzzlers.

Anglo Indian and Goan Christian community is taken as reference whenever they show Christians in Indian films.

Most of the Christians who are of Indian origin are indistinguishable from their Hindu counter parts in the way they dress and their culture and life style. Yet Indian Christian community doesn't complain at this representation or make a big deal about what is shown in movies.

let's not engage in moral equivalence of the absurd kind. The guy is only asking for censoring anti-Hindu stuff.

for what you say to happen, we'd have to get to a stage where members from the majority community regularly abduct minor girls from the minority communities (Sikh, Hindu girls in Pak) and force them to convert before marrying them.

we'd have to have blasphemy laws that are punishable by death for religious blasphemy. That's pakistan for you. Forget censorship, they'll put you out to hang.

Not happening, bud.

moral fudging is also bad. Thats the other point.

we had extreme levels of appeasement. High time all religions and people are treated the same. Only accommodation should be based on economic grounds. Nothing else. No religion. No caste etc.

if they find something offensive, they should complain. If they don't, what does that mean? My Christian friends are pretty strong in their defense of their religion when you interact with them personally... meaning they likely wouldn't take BS in films against their religion if that were the case.

i also think you are conflating community with religion. Jesus is not depicted in negative ways, never mocked etc. People from various communities are of course ridiculed, including HIndus- the marwaris, the sadhus etc are routinely made out to be bad corrupt people.

On the contrary, I think a lot of the depiction of Christian values is positive in Hindi films. You have the actors praying in churches as a last resort kind of thing... all good.

Blah. Reminds me of SGPC saying they will make Sikh Censor Board to vet films and shows showing Sikh characters or anything on Sikh history.

This is all dadagiri of religious fanatics who want to dictate what can be written, made or shown or not.

They are growing irrelevant in modern era as people become less religious so they are trying new ways to get relevant and dictate others what to do.

And mostly I think it is a racket to blackmail creators and extort money.

Total no no to such bullshit ideas.

All producers, publishers and content creators as well as audience need to take a stand against it or else we are going way backwards and giving encouragement to religious goons to further meddle in every aspect of life. Tomorrow they will dictate restaurants what food to serve or book publishers on what to publish or not.

Ignore the shit out of these religious thugs of ANY religion. We do not want Taliban type rule in India.

I am taking what they're saying at face value and unlike you, not imputing wrong motives. Law can take it's course if they or anyone else indulge in wrongdoing. In principle, in a country where people are ready to go on the boil over the slightest provocation, having some restraints might not be bad idea... and to the extent the guy is wanting to censor negative stuff, i can support that.

but how is this guy an extremist. How does suggesting that BW films don't hurt hindu sensitivity make someone an extremist? Is that how whacked up the wokes have gotten? As per them/ extreme left Ilhan Omar type Democrats, it's wrong to support any religion- unless it's Islam. They target Christians, they target Jews and they will target Hindus, but for Islam, they'll make concessions. Then they wonder how come a guy like Trump gets voted to office.

personally i am ok with either zero censorship in which anyone can trash any religion or an equal playing field. It's not right that only one religion is targeted by the BW scumbags.

The guy here goes extremes when he is stating a fact.

Not denying what he said about Bollywood being insensitive to Hindus n their identity, but he goes on to trash current censor board and establishing an alternative board . Imagine the chaos with this.

Then he suggests trashing Ministry of minority for his own good reasons.

He loses the plot when he goes in extremes like above. Better stick to point and demand for it.

Btw, he is not alone but We have many like him in other religion n sects also, some to the level of being MPs and lawyers and trashing other’s beliefs, religion etc.

Jeez. Does this mean no more visuals of "actors" dressed up as Shiva crawling under seats? 😭

My condolences to the usual suspects who will miss these kinda visuals.
