Sita- Kangana

Lakshman- RajKumarRao

Bharat-Sidharth

Ravan- Ranveer

Hanuman- Rana

Vibhishan- Ayushmaann

NONE.

Bollywood actors are too urbane and modern looking as well as plastic to convincingly play Ramayana characters.

I would not choose anyone from current or even 90s BW to play Ramayana characters.

Also Ramayana should not be made. It is not a commercially viable tale in today's times for film audience.

I can imagine all of them in their characters to an extent, barring Varun🤔.

He just doesn't have in to play Lord Hanuman.

I think they biggest mistake they have done is focusing too much on VFX. Ramayan as a story is fairly simple, straight-forward (unlike Mahabharat) and does not require excessive use of CGI and VFX.

A lot of it is a tale of Ram-Sita-Lakshman's vanvaas and their encounters in the forest, which can easily be handled with sets and practical effects.

Only the battle scenes and some major milestones like Ram Setu, Sanjeevani parvat, etc. require effects. They just had to get the look and feel of the movie right, keeping the simplicity, in check and that would have been half the job done.

I completely agree with you. There was no need to rely so much on the special effects.

Following visuals are making my skin crawl😵😳.

Yes maybe u r right. He was just a compromise

as i can't think of any other bw actor to play Hanuman. Maybe some tv actor or someone from south...

None in todays bollywood can do Ram Sita lakshman hanuman

But Ravan role can be done by ashutosh rana may be 10 years back

Sita role for Deepika Padukone none else that too 7-8 years back not now in 2015 or so

I would say anushka shetty of bahhubhali fit role to T as Sita why did they not take her only

She will be good at confronting Ravaan and she looks like a Queen too in historicals

Ravaan can be Sudeep(Makhi fame) or Rana Daggubati both are excellent for Ravaan to send shivers down spine

Hanuman should be NTR Jr (RRR fame bec of his physique)

Lakshman can be Jayaram Ravi(Raja Raja Chola in PS1)

If you think of Ram very few actors can show vulnerability and action aura at same time even in south Prabhas is ok or Karthi (PS1) could do it he has that aura

Because we must think of reach and business too while casting hero not only acting chops

Hrithik will not suit Ram because some how is dialgue delivery sucks and actors real life alo will have impact on role

Hrithik is no one man woman image to accept him as Ram but Prabhas has no controversy so we can look at him and fel that we are seeing God

To play God character is not that easy as that aura should be there

I feel Anushka Shetty is best suited for Draupadi. Not Sita. Sorry to disagree with members here. But I have always felt Anushka had that fiery screen presence and look in eyes which is apt for Draupadi.

Why not Sita? Sita too withstood Ravans might alone in lanka till Lord Ram rescued her

When anuksha's Sita challenges Ravaan it will be worth watching

I agree she does not look very innocent or vulnerable but the character is standing alone and facing villan too which anushka can do well as proved in bahubhali

Sita is a more docile character. Anushka is too fiery for it.

Anushka cannot look convincing in scenes when Shrupnakha tries to kill Sita or Sita is worried when Ram goes to look for deer and does not return. Nor look convincing in dharti mein samana scenes or scenes where her character is questioned.

Anushka had done soft characters when she was young.
