Masala movies are back in Bollywood. Brahmastra is doing really well and so is Vikram Vedha. Both movie does have power from filmy families. Boycott and keyword warriors could not do anything.

I have seen this trend now during festive season and being back to office season ha ls pushed stress level high for everyone. People want to relax in movie theatre with their families and friends.

Psuedo intellectual film makers and realistic fim makers will lose their ground if they cannot make their movie entertaining. They would be soon move to parallel cinema.

What do you think?

The boycott trends never worked. A film can be intellectual and entertaining , both or neither.

At the end of the day as long as the movie is entertaining it will bring the audience. Film makers have to budget the films well. Brahmastra did well but compared to its budget it was not good.

Similarly a TKF compared to its budget has the biggest roi.

VV is mixed as of now. It's market in south is lost as PS1 is huge in south and VV itself is a Tamil remake.

Timing is also important.

Who were the realistic film makers who succeeded before in Bollywoood?🤔

Those were from Bengals, Marathi, Tamil, and Malayalam. Those sectors were thriving before and are doing even better now thanks to OTT.

People like Anurag were never thought to be successful by Bollywood anyway. It was the KJo and SLB type, and they never made any intellectual films.
