It’s how a person is conditioned. The society of Jaya-AB’s idolised husbands and wives put up with a lot of crap. The other woman was the sultry siren, who led their poor husbands astray.

There were rumours that AB married Rekha in a secret ceremony and that’s why she continues to wear the sindoor long after the death of her real husband. It could be that she is playing the part of the epitome of the sacrificial wife 🤷‍♀️

Yeah women were conditioned and still are, for tolerating shit from men or being the bigger person or more devoted and loyal or unconditional in love and not expect anything in return. This idea is promoted in India till date and serials etc too and women who walk out are bashed or told they lost own home or lacked patience or adjustment or did not fight enough to save their marriage.

Desi society keeps all onus of caring for family or loyalty or kids or in laws and maintaining marriage only on woman while expecting nothing from man.

I see online all time how Dimple is bashed for leaving Rajesh and blamed for his downfall while Jaya is praised for supporting AB and is seen as reason for his longevity and success.

Jaya saved his ass many times before his career and after downfall and her production house saved him when ABCL failed. Even now her political career saves ass of this man.

Rekha has really let herself down but probably saw own mom in such arrangement so had no issues. I really feel bad for her husband Mukesh who committed suicide over this woman who was never with him at heart.

Gosh, these ITV serials really make me so cross! They idolise sacrificial lambs and vilify a modern woman who wants more than ghar, pati, baccha.

TV should have been the first medium to promote progressive ideas, but through its outdated shows, it promotes patriarchy and a woman’s sacrifice. The shows from my mother’s time were more progressive than the ones today. That’s just so sad!

Even today, where there are so many working women, the responsibility of the whole household is only on her. She must take care of her family, her home and manage work - all in the same day, without a break. The husband will do nothing to help her and that’s acceptable. What is this, if not slavery?

I can’t help but think that women are as much to blame in this slavery, as the society enslaving her. After a point, one has to help themselves 🤷‍♀️

Totally agreed with everything except there have been very strong rumours since decades that Rekha is bisexual. I don’t believe she makes her secretary dress like Sr ONLY b/c of her massive obsession with Sr. It’s tragic in any case though & Rekha has lived a very tragic life. Sr & she have been together since the 70s. A couple of years ago, a pilot took a selfie with Sr & Rekha was RIGHT behind him, sleeping peacefully in a white sari. 😆

The most EPIC was ARB though at the Stardust awards. She won an award, came on stage with Rekha presenting her the award. She touched her feet & said, “Thank you, MAA.” 🤣 Only ARB can throw such shade with the utmost elegance.

I did not want to talk about it but I have heard a lot that Farzana and Rekha are in a lesbian relationship.

Rekha has led a tragic life. I think issues with her parents also led her to be obsessed with Amitabh and romanticize attention she got from him.

I have heard Amitabh secretly still meets Rekha and I remember that pic from plane went viral few years ago.

I feel so bad for Jaya for tolerating this shit and for Rekha to still be fine with this arrangement.
