Do you attend every funeral and mourn every single dead person because we must respect the dead? You only do that to those who matter to you.
And what if the dead person was an asshole who tortured your family and made them suffer? Then you might want to go spit on their grave.
And sometimes you have no choice. Your boss may make you go to the funeral for a client or colleague you don't care about. Or you might willingly go because it makes you look good.
So it is with the Queen.
Most South Asians don't give a flying f. Why should they? The queen was just an old lady far far away, irrelevant to them. Let them be instead of expecting them to mourn.
And if the wounds and suffering of colonization are still fresh for folks, let them rejoice that their oppressor died.
And politicians across the globe expressing condolences and attending the funeral aren't doing so because they care for and respect the queen - either their bosses asked them to or they are trying to look good to others.

Yes.. that...
I don't get that. The queen was really irrelevant for us from a very long time
I think they feel sad like they feel sad when a celebrity dies... It's not going to affect their lives but still they feel sad cz they've watched them for so long, in Queen's case since their childhood
Some people mourn a death by burning cities down
perhaps you are right

The wait is now 24 hours but people are undeterred

What bothers me more is Charles and Camilla being crowned as the monarchs, not that I have any admiration for Liilybeth and Andrew, either.
A cheater for the king and a homewrecker for the queen ... Ain't we lucky to witness such a travesty?
Cheater Kings are not new to England. But the Queens(the wives) mostly tended to have a spotless reputation and more or less irrelevant. Except Eleanor of Aquitaine. What a woman! Ex-Queen of France before she married the English king Henry II. Plotted and schemed with her sons to depose her cheater husband and put the popular elder son Richard The Lionheart on the throne.
The Royalty are anyway becoming irrelevant. Charles and Camilla are hastening the end. The public would probably prefer the younger,well-behaved William and Kate anyway. The Kohinoor diamond is reputed to be bad luck for men. So who knows how long before there's a new monarch on the English Throne?
