I will try to watch an art film if it has a nice promo
I mostly enjoy all kinds of cinema. Gritty, slice of life, escapist commercial flicks, thrillers, comedy. Not a big fan of action films or romantic films but still watch them if they are good.
There is one thing which I'm not enjoying these days, web series are forcibly giving shock/abrupt endings which are like an anti thesis to the rest of episodes. Intentionally not giving a closure just for cheap thrills, what a waste of a thriller if you are not revealing the main thrill element properly. I do not mind open endings but I dislike abrupt endings which feel like a time waste eventually.
I enjoy thriller/Rom coms/ Tragedy
I love cinema irrespective of genre, language, region.
People watch films because they entertain you. An absolutely dark film can be as entertaining as a full blown commercial super hero film. Entertainment itself will mean different things to different people and answer will include stating their preferred genres.
I have noticed I liked films which are below
1. Larger than life like devdas, padmavat etc which are very grand and absorb us into it. Visually amazing
But it's should have a good story atleast and not be too art film types which bore me
2. I like good written fantasy films
3. I love historical films, again they should not distort history
4. I like movies like dhoom 2 which have masala thriller
I don't like tragic films especially if animals die or innocent people die
And I don't like sad films like taare zameen par where audience are made to cry forcefully
