For me, Episode 18 is the emotional equivalent of a gun being fired with the silencer on. There was an explosion, though the extent of the injury is still undiscovered.

After the episode ended last night, I was annoyed. At Ayesha and at Fahad. And then I slept on it. I am still annoyed. But now I can trace some of the ill judged decisions to other things shown in the past.

The breakfast scene was necessary...not only because we love Ayet breakfast scenes (because we do! they are adorable!), but it set the stage for things to come. The fact is that Basit and Ayesha's feelings about each other are not on the same page. Basit has exposed a very vulnerable side of himself to Ayesha because of the shock of grief. Ayesha has been there to support him. But that does not mean she has suddenly begun to feel that her place in Basit's heart is a strong one. We know she thinks that Basit does not care about her and now she thinks that Basit appreciates the support she offers. But she does not believe that he is interested in her inner life. In ep 17 couch scene, that she immediately turned to Sadia when he asked for some conversation, shows she thinks he will not find anything she has to say about herself or her own life interesting. Then the way she was looking at Basit while he had breakfast. It was like she pitied him, she is full of pity for him at this point and is ready to take care of him like a child. Her mothering came out again when she jumps up to pour out the juice for him. That is the only way she thinks she can offer him something he needs, through this kind of care. The pity in her eyes, I think Basit senses it. Makes him leave like that. She seems hurt he asks Karim to help him with the coat which means he doesn't need her. On his part, I think it was Basit trying to say you don't have to take care of me like that. An improvement on his earlier, "Yeh aapka kaam nahi hai".

Qudsia was the perfect mess I had wanted to see. What I did not expect was this insight into Bobby phupho's past. The chaotic way the family reacted to Zoya's elopement was fun to watch. Qudsia with her blamegame, Bano trying to solve it by going to the police, Qudsia drubbing her down with her fears of scandal, Ayesha's anger at Zoya, Bobby's blaming Qudsia. There was that one scene where Bobby is telling Qudsia that she had warned her about Zoya and you see Ayesha all angry about to cut Bobby down when Qudsia says something and Ayesha instead asks them both to stop arguing so she can think...that moment we see how blind Ayesha can be when it comes to her mother but we also see that Qudsia is on her way to some realisations of her own. I think Ayesha too by seeing Bobby and Qudsia's interactions will come to some realisations as well. But that is too early to tell.

As for Ayesha not telling Basit. I find this quite believable. We are of course not part of Ayesha's family and it is quite normal for us to judge them for what they are. But Ayesha is part of that family. We have seen how much she cares about them all, that she places great importance on the family's reputation, that she was ready to remain unmarried and support the family before Basit put a spanner in her plans. She has seen Basit look down on her family and it has hurt her. She wants to keep up an image of her family before him, even if it is a shabby one. After Amir's parents had left on the day they had come to see her, when Zoya was shouting at Basit about how they could barely make ends meet and how they were scolded if they had an extra roti in a meal, Ayesha immediately tried to shut her up. She doesn't want Basit's contempt. And in this case, there is also her fears about how he will react to the news of her sister running away since he does not have that great an opinion about women. He has told her in the past that he has no faith in women. In the car when he gave her that half-hearted apology, that he said it was impossible to please women, was something we see playing on Ayesha's mind later as well. She wants him to trust her and is afraid to deal with the possible reaction he might have. But at that moment, she perhaps needs help. She thinks of Fahad. This is a bit of a stretch for me but I guess it was necessary to resolve Zoya's matters quickly. Fahad provides her the resources that allows for them to locate Zoya. Otherwise it might have gotten stretched. But there was an alternative where Ayesha lied but there was no Fahad in the picture...this is if Zoya sent her nikah video to Bano directly and that way the sisters found out about her. Without Fahad's late night intervention. Basit could have still become angry at Ayesha for lying but I guess we will know more about this decision to insert Fahad into the picture in the next epi.

Ayesha lying to Basit was another total mess. She is really bad at lying. Which actually tells us something about her character. She is not used to this. She lies like a novice, stretches her lies out too much, has to invent other lies to cover up the first one. And she can barely meet Basit's eyes through the whole thing. When Basit calls her to sit beside him, you can see how deeply uncomfortable she is.

Basit in this whole episode was an absolute delight to watch. He brings flowers even after realising that Ayesha lied to him over the phone. Perhaps he felt, he needs to work on their relationship so that she trusts him with the truth. But seeing her with Fahad that way makes him angry. And Ayesha gets what she thinks to be another reminder that Basit does not care about her when he tells her he picked up the flowers on the way home and not that he had got them for her. But the various ways he tries to have Ayesha tell him the truth was lovely. You can see why he will lose it in the next epi. There are too many lies and cover ups floating around.

Fahad not telling the truth to Basit, I can understand that he had promised Ayesha to not reveal the matter to Basit, but he could have handled it better. Had he said, you should talk about this with your wife, Basit would have known there is something serious but that Ayesha cannot bring herself to share it with him. The fact that his own friend is lying to him because of Ayesha would only strengthen the feelings he holds about women.

Ayesha and Bano's anger at Zoya might be well-placed but it also showed how little empathy they have for Zoya's feelings. How could they not once say that Qudsia should not have forced her into that engagement with that man in his 40s. I mean does it really not matter? And this lack of understanding of Zoya's feelings, makes me think that the way Zoya has behaved in the past is because her feelings have never been taken seriously in the household. After all she is the youngest, so all the disciplining must have been even more focused on her. Some would have reacted by becoming more submissive. With Zoya she has grown to be uncaring about her family's opinions. But you also see how Zoya wants her family's affection. She is very happy after her wedding at first, but you see her slowly grow a bit pensive even while Amir continues to dance.

As for Amir, haha! What a mama's boy. But hopefully, by realising that he has to take care of Zoya, he will become a better man.

Twerps, your posts always put a positive spin into even the most dreadful of situations. So, it's nice to read your perspective.

But I am not going to absolve Fahad and Ayesha so easily in this matter, especially Fahad. I totally understand Ayesha not wanting to air her family's dirty laundry in front of Basit. But agar image ki itni fikar hai, then she should have avoided going to Fahad also. You cannot pick and choose these things. Izzat is either a 0 or a 100. If she wants to keep her private matters private, then both Basit and Fahad are outsiders at this point. In fact, Basit is related to them all, while Fahad is not.

Qudsia is getting her karmo ke fal. I care little for her. She deserves all the humiliation in the world. While her maafi to Bobby was a nice scene, I am sure she will palti maaro again and blame her for something very soon.

I am actually shocked at the lack of sympathy for Zoya. The sisters really expected her to chup chap get married to a 40 year old man. And because she didn't, now they are saying all sorts of mean things about her. Where is the sister code?? Why can't they say some harsh words to their mother dearest also...

Zoya is a kid. Of course, she is hot headed and rebellious. But we also know that this step was taken out of desperation. I too noticed how she stopped dancing after some time. She missed sharing this moment with her family. And I also liked how she defended her mother in front of Aamir's mom. This is that same thing you know...I can say anything to my person....but how dare you say anything to her. So, it is clear she cares for them. Ayesha na sahi, Bano at least should have really understood her actions. She almost did the same thing. I am disappointed with both the elder sisters.

My Basit was a sweetheart today. As Rishu said, his suave slider mode of trying to coax out the truth from Ayesha was lovely to watch.😳

Anyways, I am looking forward to the staircase confrontation. As Krinya said, Ayesha is going to say that over-used line "aap mere baare mei aisa soch bhi kaise sakte hai"🤣 when in fact, she has given him all the reasons to think negative about her😆

Ayeshas is a strange family . These are not the reactions one would expect when zoyas marriage was fixed to a 40 + man and now when she eloped and got married.

. I'd love to see Aamir and Zoya getting their dues. Aamir is a brat, whose only qualification is to spend his parents money .

I specially dislike ayeshas attitude towards her family..she is ashamed to let basit know , but she also always support them in every wrong . She wants basit to respect them but are they worthy? Kaise kaise toh kaand karte hain from time to time. This is so different from kashaf who kept zaroon away from her family problems due to her own complexes... but her family was so loving and supportive

Therez no reasoning behind lying to basit , will he not know in future that Zoya eloped with Aamir, at that time what will their impression be ? He hates women ? No. He Hates disloyalty , distrust , and lying . I am really averse to lies ..and my understanding of a character stops right there as I see no reason big enuf to lie to the spouse . Specially those things which r known to everyone around him or her.

I am sad as I was expecting better treatment of this "jealousy and shaque" track ..it didn't even come to that .

Actually Bano explains why she did not make an uproar. Had she done so the scandal would have come out and the whole neighbourhood would have learned that Zoya was running away. She told Qudsia would you rather that everyone had heard me and today the house would have been full of neighbours here with an eye for gossip material.

Being a household of all women, maintaining their reputation must have been a major concern for them for some time. Bano had set aside these concerns when she had become desperate and feared losing Talal. I had hoped to see some support for Zoya because of that but I did not see it. Maybe it lay in her silences but she is angry at Zoya like Ayesha without thinking that Qudsia had forced Zoya into this by almost getting her married to the man in his 40s

Perhaps I will change my mind but... I would like to swing around the viewpoint for the sisters.. Let me try and see your opinions.

Zoya stopped objecting herself to the wedding plans with this older man and did not include her sisters in her plan. Bano did object and that too in front of Zoya. Which is actually more than we saw Zoya sticking up for Bano, the one who sacrificed so much.. Bano reaches out to Ayesha who has no clue what is going on at home, but who is willing to also do or say something for her sister. Though Zoya acts like she has accepted to get married and enjoys all the gifts. Bano did say she does not have it in her to look Zoya in the eyes.

There is a difference for me in how Zoya was brought up being the youngest. I feel she was the one spoilt rotten in terms of attention, and knowing that she should speak up to get what she wants and fight for herself. Fight for herself, not for others. Why should I fight for them if they don't fight for themselves?

I know it is not fair what I am going to say now.. Because the intensity of love does not hold a timeline. But I don't think I see Talal and Bano in the same way like I see Amir and Zoya. Bano kept quiet for years and didn't go against her mom. Talal was patient for years. And here are these youngsters, did not graduate, no job nothing. Bano did not say yes to someone else to get married too. No other commitments. I think that makes the shame for Qudsia even bigger. And... Also all the jewellery being gone, Qudsia is now in bigger debts.

The oldest did see Zoya's pain.. And did want for her sister to end up with her love.. But Amir showed his colors at home.. That is what the sisters have seen. And now you runaway without also telling your sisters? Why would she then expect support? By the way, while Zoya is dancing at her wedding with half heart, who gets the blame? Bano.. Also not really fair right?

The middle one, she is so righteous.. So busy with being the good fair honest kid. Not living at home anymore, and calling Zoya out on her behavior (the money she stole) does not make Ayesha the best person to turn to as well.

Ayesha also sacrificed.. Medal.. Education.. Her freedom to work.. She married a rich but very dominant guy with issues, and she is lonely..

Except for roti, luxury.. What did Zoya sacrifice in comparison to the sisters? Running away for love, leaving them behind to deal with whatever would follow. Leaving them with debt and no face to show for, Zoya did not consider her sisters too..

And.... In the end I don't understand why everyone is so surprised... Especially Qudsia and Bobbi.. Zoya always said she would not accept any wrong doings to her and just runaway..

Maybe unconsciously.. Bano did let her go.. She could have followed her etc. You see your sister at that time with bags and all.. She is not going for a picnic right?

WOW what an episode, episodes like this where you can finger count on more than half of the characters competing with each other at winning the stupidest piece of clown, come very rare, but today we had it.

Everyone except Basit and Karim behaved like they are from planet Mars, let us start with Ayesha begum, who has so much of self respect and izzat ke khudki husband ki izzat ki band bajaya by telling his best friend that 'I do not trust my husband enough to share my behen ki kala kartoot'.

I genuinely have one doubt, today Ayesha said Basit does not respect women, so madam Ayesha, if he did not respect women, you or anyone, then why would he go to his mother's graveyard upon your insistence? Why would he sleep on your bed upon your insistence? Why would he slap his 9 year old employee upon your humiliation? WTF is this woman? Today i felt like muting her completely. What pathetic lie was it? As if Basit does not know how stupid her family is, or how greedy her family is that he would be shocked? Fahad had no idea how her family was, but she trusted to share with Fahad not Basit? Wasn't Basit the one who witnessed the fiasco of zoya aamir engagement? Anyway, my brain cells cannot put anymore effort to understand Ayesha, Basit deserved better, especially after his mother's loss. Ayesha just proved him right, every one lies to him, takes his love and loyalty for granted and thinks he is a fool who has no heart? WOW.. I am super sad and disappointed

Now, Mr. Fahad, seriously ye koi star plus ka devaar award chahiye isko? did he really say Basit does not deserve Ayesha? STFU, you do not deserve him. Basit has asked everyone, be it Bano, Fahad or Ayesha, why are these people treating him like an outsider? When did Basit ever not help anyone? Fahad, I expected better, gyaan dene ke time pe toh his mouth does not stop but when it came to do the right thing, he chose to lie and not only that, next episode conveniently blame Basit? Do not you know how he hates liars? Leave Basit, on a personal note i myself would never trust my partner or friend again if they made me feel unwanted and undeserving of being their helping hand in their crisis, kya meri value and izzat itna hi tha?

Also, on what basis is Ayesha behaving like jogan next episode when Basit confronts her? She clearly does not trust him, treated him lime a room mate, she does not even love him, then aisa kya hogaya hai? khudki galti hai, woh manni nahi hai lekin Basit should read minds and know how paak she is?

All the 3 sisters have issues, Bano is the sanest, but well genes are genes, no wonder Qudsiya ka genes hai 😆

Bobby phuppo, shut up, who cares what happened to her? Here my Basit is being fooled around, itne paisa, aur roop honeke baad bhi issko khushiyan nahi milta, and wahape toh you guys are a bunch of twisted and greedy group 🤢

Also when Basit told Ayesha that, I called and you were not at home, he clearly hinted to her that 'I know you are lying, so please come clean', however, she chose to bull shit around that too? If after just days of his mother's loss he can be so normal, mature and understanding, then how can you think this man is disrespectful? He was right, his mother ruined Ayesha's head by doing maard are bad talks, whatever happened, I am just pissed off that after 2 episodes, they will conveniently make Basit guilty again and beg for maafi as if making him guilty for his business, his mom's death and 100 more things for which he was not responsible was not enough.

The more i feel Basit only deserved love, they push him further to misery and why put such a loving character through so much unfair events, he is not wrong, expecting loyalty and truth from spouse is the only rule and they broke it only to blame him?

Imo fahad is more wrong here but in the end it'll be basit who will be shown guilty for not trusting his friend and wife...
