^^ off topic a bit - but Don’t these BW and Ambanis have some special quota/seats in universities in US - I find it hard to believe that they go through general admission line and gets in Yale/ Brown/ USC/ Stanford etc 😆

Ranbir had low SAT score hence he didn't get an admission to the Californian uni he had applied for. Rishi Kapoor called director and producer and co-owner of Merchant-Ivory Productions Ismail Merchant, who was a good friend of Shashi Kapoor. Rishi asked him to do something. So Ismail Merchant talked with the faculty head, said this boy is the grandson of the father of BW cinema Raj Kapoor, how could they reject him. Hence Ranbir got the admission. That's how nepotism works.

It was in Rishi Kapoor's biography. Excerpt are available online.

Yes that’s what I thought has been happening with most BW kids and all these big businessman’s kids too. Not denying some might actually qualify but definitely not all of them to go to Ivy League/Stanford.
Didn’t Ananya claim that she got into USC? Lol

Rishi Kapoor said on No Filter with Neha... how they created a perception of the craze for his debut film Bobby. Those days they used to release movies in Mumbai's selected theaters first... then the film used to release in other cities, towns, then villages. Shashi Kapoor was the Delhi distributor of the film. So they planned Rishi would go to Delhi during Delhi release and Shashi's hired college kids would stand outside the airport wearing Bobby pics printed t-shirts... to make people believe what a huge craze Rishi Kapoor had created among the youth.

Nepokids craze are also engineered. Phir nepo lovers baat karte hai.

That’s not true.
You have to study and pass exams to become doctors and engineers.

Even Isha Ambani went to Business School to join her Father’s business.

Forget RK and Aloo, but what Ananya, Jhanvi, Shanaya n these dumb new gen nepos have done? Hindi bolni aati nahi Aur inko Hindi movies mein acting karni hai. They want to behave like Kim Kardashian.. and want desi Indian audience acceptance. They are South Bombay ke kuen ke mendhak. They think SoBo is entire India. smiley36

Aa loko jetla doba me kyay nathi joya. Akkal ghas charva gai chhe new gen nepos ni.

lol which thread is this rant on. I agree with some points though. It’s true you have to study hard and pass exams but I think sometimes and even happens in western countries too Nepotism isn’t just an Indian or Bollywood thing.

Sometimes, in case some relative or someone known can put in a good word in case don’t have the greatest grades or average MCAT Or other graduate test scores as they subjective. But once you get entry into the college then yes it depends your hard work
And passing national, clinical exams ( I am here taking on medicine and healthcare now). The same way nepo kids do have an edge but the audiences have a choice.

Even Sara studied some not-in-demand subject in Columbia. It's easy to enroll if you have money and connection. Many politicians and richman's kids go to big universities to party and network with other rich kids and politico kids. Rich people going to famous universities is not something to be lauded.

Sara speaks Hindi very well, don't behave like the usual sobo shanaya, ananya, jhanvi type. and Columbia acceptancewith money isn't easy either. and nothing is a cake walk in the us competitive undergrad schools
